Being different is better than being the best Brands constantly talk about how their products/services are better than their competitors or that they're the best. The problem with that is that "better" and "best" are value statements, they're made by customers - not brands. Any brand that talks about how they're the best or better will not be believed by people simply because every brand makes that claim, even the worst brands. People's experiences have taught them to not believe those statements. Enter differentiation, differentiation is highlighting how your product, service or business is different from its competitors in its market. The difference you talk about has to be value driven, benefit customers and make it easy for them to choose your business over its competitors. People are hardwired to notice differences, not similarities. When your competitors go left, you go right and tell people why you went right plus how you going right will benefit them. Don't do what your competitors are doing if you want to beat them. Stay away from status quo and doing things "how they've always been done". Dare to be different, do different things. Make your brand a memorable brand. Being different will help your business become easily recognizable, it'll stand out and attract more customers to it. People are curious beings, use that curiosity to attract new customers and increase sales by using differentiation. #differentiation #positioning #brandpositioning
