The final extended term of Scott Atkins, President of INSOL International, is coming to an end. We would like to offer our sincere thanks and gratitude to Scott for the passion, dedication and diligence he has given INSOL International over the 3 years of his presidency. During this time Scott has been instrumental in leading a comprehensive strategic review of INSOL International through the landmark INSOL 2030 Strategic Plan and by leading several new future-shaping initiatives to enable INSOL to continue to serve its members in the decade to come. Scott was appointed President in June 2021 in the midst of the global pandemic, with borders shut and programs delivered exclusively online. Together with the INSOL Board and with the support of our members, Scott led INSOL London 2022, followed by INSOL Tokyo 2023 and most recently, INSOL San Diego 2024. These have been milestone events for INSOL, including celebrating INSOL’s 40th anniversary and driving membership growth to a record 12,300 members. This global membership growth of 18% over the past 3 years has occurred alongside our growth in Member Associations and geography – INSOL now draws members from an incredible 108 countries. Among Scott’s accomplishments as President, the recent governance review is most significant in setting INSOL’s trajectory for future success. The expanded network of Regional Advisory Councils which underpin INSOL’s Board are designed to drive INSOL’s further engagement and reach to all corners of the globe. As Scott looks to other projects for INSOL, we are confident that the work to implement INSOL’s 2030 Strategic Plan will continue at pace as INSOL further expands, connects and strengthens our association by advancing initiatives that reflect the four pillars of leadership under our Plan – leading our association, leading our community, leading our profession and building capability. For now, please join the INSOL Board, Staff and all INSOL Members and Stakeholders as we thank Scott for his service and look forward to continuing to work with him on future INSOL projects.

Scott Atkins: There isn’t enough space here to adequately acknowledge and thank you for your contributions to INSOL International, the broader international insolvency community, law practice and development, and many other initiatives, communities, goals and relationships. You are a leader of immeasurable impact, example, inspiration and encouragement. Flying 8k+ miles here and there month after month is not glamorous, and you have sacrificed much personally for the benefit of countless. You have such positive energy and it’s contagious. There is a lot more to be done, and we all look forward to working with you for decades to come.
