Able bodied people should all spend a day in a wheelchair to see and understand themselves the unnecessary road blocks to normal life that exist. Whether that's inability to get into (or around) a shop, blocks on travel, restrictions or simple non-availability of basic human needs - such as a toilet or the use of an allegedly accessible toilet to store cleaning materials, bins or double use for baby changing - all of which make the facilities INACCESSIBLE. Odd thing is that accessible facilities go unnoticed by able bodied folds. Nobody notices a ramp into a shop or public building or a clear footpath unblocked by badly parked cars or bins that obstruct progress. Disabled people notice these positive things and appreciate them - and, guess what, many of us have money and minds and choose to spend and use them in accessible buildings while ignoring those places that don't seem to want us. A blocked footpath, a high step into a building - well, they just prevent us from going about activities mot folk consider normal.
