“As employers, we have to stay constant and continue to grow to ensure our employees are happy because we know that #happyemployees are #healthyemployees.” - Jo Ann Jenkins, CEO of AARP. A 2022 Gallup and Workhuman study survey revealed that employees were three times more likely to feel loyal to their companies when duly recognized, and 56% were less likely to look for new job opportunities. At the same time, according to the recent Gartner research in scope of Global Future of Work Trends 2023, 82% of employees now say it’s important that their organizations see them as a whole person, rather than simply an employee. Therefore, #caringforemployees is one of the key keys to the successful existence of any company! At SoftServe, we strive not only to develop in the direction of technology. It is vital for us to understand that each member of our large and friendly family feels that he/she is cared for, and therefore he can trust and feel comfortable in his ideas, goals and aspirations. That is why we hold the so-called #DaretoCare month every year in October, dedicated to our personal well-being. 40 incredible offline events across all our locations, 790 employees in person and another 2,500 people joining us online - that's what October 2023 has been for us. And I'm definitely proud of it! I believe that October 2024 will be no less productive, full and fruitful for every SoftServe employee!

On Sunday, I'll be headed to the #HLTH2023 conference in Las Vegas. 🍸 🍺 🍷 . I'm really excited to be on a panel to discuss an important topic - how employers decide where to put their time, energy and money, to help their employees with their health and well-being. If you know me though, I'm not much of a Vegas 🎲 kind of guy. You're definitely more likely to find me hiking or biking. I've got mixed feelings going into this trip. I've been inundated with requests from well-meaning individuals who want to connect. Most of the offers though feel more like putting a square peg in a round hole. I'm looking for colleagues who want to connect about employee health and well-being and not artificial intelligence. I'm looking for employers who want to talk about #WellBeingAtWork, to help their own employees! I'm looking for those who want to support the #mentalhealth of one of our nations most precious resources, healthcare workers. I've found a few good matches and thank the following in advance: * Dipty Desai, Ph.D. - we'll chat about how to support the health and well-being of the IT workers in healthcare. * Caroline Pearson - moderating our panel and helping our community be more efficient in making meaningful connections for advancing care (in my case, for employees). * Shelby Livingston - let's talk about what business leaders are missing when it comes to a healthy workforce. If you think we have enough in common for a meaningful exchange (and not a sales pitch), please message me on LinkedIn. Thanks! #employeebenefits #humanresources

I Help Ambitious Startup Job Seekers Land Career-Accelerating Dream Roles at World-Changing Startups | "De-Risk" the Search w/ Proven Methods & Investor-Grade Data | From Cubicle Data Entry to Early Uber & Startup VP
Last week, I shared some career-accelerating positions at Function Health. This is what I would do to land one if I were on the startup job hunt. 1. Sign up for the service and document the process. This is useful because it will give you insight into the customer experience, which you can use to speak to the team in outreach messages and interviews. Finally, if you're a fan of the company like I am, you'll be a fan of the product, so it's just a cool experience. 2. Pay to become a member. This isn't for everyone, but I would pay $499 to complete my lab work. Again, the goal here is to simulate the client process as much as possible and to get your hands on a cool new product. Plus, it'll give you testing that can improve your health or save your life. I tried to do this, but they don't service NY or NJ, so I may try to hit Washington state when I visit family there next week. 3. Live in the Function Health ecosystem. I would find and listen to every podcast interview or YouTube video in which the founders and executives have appeared. Those would become the soundtrack of my life. I would always have headphones in while I was doing the dishes, out for a run, or at the grocery store. I would get to know them better than they know themselves. I would learn about their backstories, the company's history, how they talk about the product, how they talk about their customers, their priorities, who they like to hire, and their biggest challenges. I would use this in my outreach messages, cover letter, and resume. 4. Check for connections. I would use the LinkedIn people search to find any connections who could provide a warm intro to anyone at the company, regardless of relevance to the role I'm targeting. 5. Send warm and cold messages. I would start with first or second-degree connections and then move to people with whom I didn't have any connection. For those I don't have a connection to, I would look to build one through similar universities, work experience, hometown, etc. 6. Referral or apply. If I could find or build a warm connection with the company, I would check if they had a referral program that I could take advantage of. If not, I would craft a specific application, optimize it for impact in the specific areas they're looking for, and inject plenty of creativity into the cover letter. 7. Attach value deliverables. I would record quick intro videos for my outreach emails and link them inside my cover letter. I'd document my customer journey and craft it into a slide deck showing what was good, what could be improved, and how I had made those improvements in prior positions. This may sound involved. But if it's a dream role, it won't feel like work. — Enjoy this? ♻️ Repost it to your network and follow Kyle Thomas for more. Working in the Market Research industry I have always found it interesting that while so many companies make their money off of asking questions and learning new insights and perspectives they rarely ever use these same tools to gain insights about their team, employees, and company health. It doesn't always have to be a survey, but if it is done that way you have to have a system in place that is able to react and listen quicker. One company I was speaking with told me that they do quick pulse check-ins with the whole company every 2-3 weeks and that it has been a game changer. Their staff is more willing to share openly and feels respected plus they can make adjustments to avoid losing top talent and improve the company for everyone. On the flip, the old way of thinking has tended to be an annual survey. This is a failed methodology and doesn't address issues, concerns or areas of growth in a timely manner. And even worse, if there are new issues coming to light it puts your leadership style and approach into question. You don't have an environment of trust and listening in place, so despite your 'best effort' folks don't feel comfortable sharing in the moment. Before you lose your best team members and employees, be willing to listen to their feedback and use some of those data collection tools and methodologies you champion to be an expert in with your clients. Folks want to be heard and appreciated, not to mention feel safe at their job. #mrx #beagoodhuman
