Through conversations with clients and students over the years, I have realised that often it is thought, when a scheme owner such as BRCGS, IFS etc, talks about staff training in a standard, that they mean 'formal training by an external provider', but -unless specified in clear - it's not the case, and they will in fact accept training provided internally, so long as:
1- the trainer is demonstrably sufficiently competent on the topic being taught, AND
2- the trainer is demonstrably competent in delivering training (that's a different skill, and it's important not to confuse those two elements) AND
3- other training related requirements such as verifying competence, keeping training records, etc are met.
So how do you make one of your employees competent to train staff out for you? (subsequently potentially saving your business a lot of money in training costs) Well, you can send them on a 'Train the Trainer Training' course (I know, it doesn't exactly roll off the tongue! and yes, it IS a thing; we commonly call those courses 'TTT courses' )
On this link is an excellent course provided by STC Academy: https://lnkd.in/gAsT8rVk (don't be misled by the low price, it is a GREAT course !!)
Best wishes! 👨🏫
