Members of the Gallatin Behavioral Health Coalition are tirelessly working together to enhance mental health and substance use services available across Gallatin County. No one provider can do it all - it takes a team of dedicated professionals to serve our community’s behavioral health needs! We’ve made a lot of progress over the past year. While there is still a long way to go and many exciting projects in the pipeline, we’d like to share some of our successes. 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 Bozeman Help Center, our local 988/crisis line provider, gives real-time access to a live person every moment of every day for anyone who is in crisis, having suicidal thoughts, in emotional distress, or concerned about someone. They answer an average of 300 behavioral health calls a month. They are able to stabilize and de-escalate 75% of those who call them. Using the caller’s own strengths, support systems, the robust 211 and mental health database, and the Help Center’s crisis follow-up services –their work reduces demand on other community services. For the other 25%, callers are referred to community and medical services. A very small percentage involve the need to call 911. For 24/7 help, you can reach the Help Center at 988 or 406-586-3333. Certified Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor |Criminal Justice Specialist | Certified Community Health Worker| Preventionist MS, ICAADC, CAADC, CCHW, CCCJS, CMDP
Thinking about how I really enjoyed myself last night at the NAMI gala. Speaking to folks adjacent to my past is always great for me. Met someone who said “man you can really talk about mental health policy!” 😎… Yes. Don’t let the shirts, ties and event pics fool ya! I did the work: 1 year as a TSS 1 year in community intervention (CYF contract) 1 year Substance Abuse Treatment Outpatient 2 years Behavior Specialist Consulting 2 years in ID residential program supervision 7 years Child residential treatment/inpatient 7 years Adult community mental health outpatient (forensics, SUD,co-occuring, SMI, transition age youth, mobile) I still grapple with guilt at times for not being in the trenches anymore, but in many new ways, I am. We evolve but we should remember that what’s foundational in our mission, stays in our spirit and guides us in our present work. 🫶🏽

Peer Support for First Responders is a structured system in which trained peer (colleagues) provide emotional, practical, and sometimes professional support to their fellow first responders. The primary goal of peer support programs is to enhance the mental health and well-being of first responders by offering a safe and confidential space for discussing the challenges and stressors they face in their line of duty. Peer Support is especially effective for First Responders because it addresses their specific needs in a way that is empathetic, non-judgmental, confidential, validating, and based on shared experiences. It plays a crucial role in promoting mental health and well-being within these high-stress professions. We specialize in establishing trained Peer Support groups for First Responder organizations. Our specialists are former police officers who have seen the benefits of Peer Support firsthand, and can relate to the specific groups they work with. If you are interested in starting a Peer Support group in your department, send us a message or visit our website: vtresponderwellness.com #vcrw #responderwellness #policementalhealth #peersupport #peersupportprogram #peersupportspecialist

Love this article. Nice job, Dr. Sharnell Myles an Embark Behavioral Health!!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Racism is a serious and pervasive problem that affects individuals of all different races. This article identifies the different races and the struggles they face, such as mental illness, racial trauma, and emotional issues. It is important to recognize and understand these issues in order to create a more equitable and just society. #embarkbh #hardconversations #minorities #teens #youngadults #resources #mentalhealth #racialtrauma #emotionalissues
When it comes to racism and mental health, the psychological effects of racism on a teen’s emotional well-being can be troubling. During childhood and adolescence, core beliefs and personality traits form. Being exposed to racism during this developmental stage increases the risk of mental illness, racial trauma, and emotional issues that can persist well into adulthood. --- To get a better insight into racism and mental health, including how teens are affected and the importance of treatment, we turned to Dr. Sharnell Myles, an Embark Behavioral Health vice president with a doctorate in psychology. Myles oversees Embark’s outpatient clinics in Georgia, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Head here 👇 to read what she had to say. https://lnkd.in/gCJdkyj5 . . . #minoritymentalhealth #minoritymentalhealthmonth #mentalhealth #TheEmbarkDifference
