🎉 Our first post this year! As we kick off 2024, all of us at Generation Hospitality hope you had a delightful and restful holiday season. Now, as we all step back into our work routines, there's a pressing question we need to address – just how long is it appropriate to keep saying "Happy New Year"? Is it until the end of the first week of January? Until you stop accidentally writing '2023' on your checks? Or maybe until someone stops responding with enthusiasm? 😄 We believe in keeping the festive spirit alive as long as possible, so expect a few more 'Happy New Years' from us throughout the month! On a more serious note, we know that transitioning back to work after the holidays can be a challenge. We're curious about your strategies. How do you shake off the post-holiday blues? Do you jump straight back into work, or do you ease into it with plans for your next vacation? Share your post-holiday rituals, or thoughts about the length of the 'Happy New Year' season in the comments below. Here's to a fantastic year ahead! #anewgeneration #NewYear2024 #HospitalityIndustry #HappyNewYearEtiquette #BackToWork

Freedom… I remember how excited I was some years ago, when I heard that a holiday was right around the corner. It meant: no school, no class, no teachers, more sleep, more tv. - That’s Christmas coming early, guys! I eagerly check the calendar marking out all the opportunities I had to miss work( which then was studying) every month. I didn’t even have to bother to know the “why” of the holiday. I only embraced what was most important to me at that time. The knowledge that, “I was free” Some decades down the line, the joke is on me now. Because, I’m in a profession where holidays have become like regular days. Haha! Well, you can never put a holiday on saving lives. And that reshaped my perception of freedom today. Being free meant something different to me now. Being free today is a reminder that yesterday, some people fought for my today. They fought for #fair wages and safe working conditions, better economic progression. As we remember them, we also remember ourselves. Today, we celebrate freedom. 📌#Freedom for all the resilience and dedication we put in our work. 📌It’s not easy to wake up in the morning and get to work. 📌It is not easy when to still fight on when things aren’t going right. 📌It is not easy to get to bed on a Sunday evening , knowing that Monday morning is just a blink away. Well done! You deserve to be celebrated. 📌Relish in the freedom of your today from battles of your yesterday. You deserve it and more. 📌To all #workers, both labour or not: my dear #healthcare professionals , engineers, techgurus, lecturers, teachers, traders, fashion designers, caterers, bakers, #entrepreneurs, media personalities, drivers, corporate staff, digital marketers, #LinkedIn Professionals and all workers from far and near, Today, We #celebrate you! #HappyInternationalWorkersday! ❤️ ♻️Repost if you found this insightful! ✍🏼Share in the comments what you do and let us celebrate you together🎉 I am Dr Vanessa Abokoma Quaye I share thoughts and ideas that seek to save lives, change lives and transform lives🌻 #freedom #speaker #workers #labourday #healthcare #holiday #leader #contentcreation

🔥We ignite engaging leadership, inspired teams and a vibrant workplace with "uncommon" HR strategies designed for innovation & impact and delivered with heart 🩵
𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮? The holiday season isn't just about the holidays. It's a time to 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 everything your team has accomplished during the year. So go ahead and treat your team to a little something special, but please know that not all holiday Managers are created equal! 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝟕 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐬: 🎁 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫: Personalized gifts, heartfelt thanks, and follow-up calls. They set the standard for generosity and appreciation. 🧝♂️ 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐥𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫: Enthusiastic and cheerful, spreading joy with handwritten cards and decent gifts, Buddy kicks off the season with lots of holiday spirit! 🎄𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫: Minimalist yet meaningful, creates memorable moments with heartfelt messages and selfless gestures on a tight budget. 🚂 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫: High on grandeur ... and expectations. Gives expensive gifts expecting to get more hard work - over the holidays - in return. 💼 𝐉𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫: Consistent, but in the wrong way. Repeating the same generic gifts and cards, year after year, leaving a bad taste and stale impression. 🎩 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫: Sadly, NOT a rare breed. Generic cards, no gifts, and no acknowledgment - a sure way to dampen the holiday spirit. ❌ 𝐁𝐚𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫: No gifts, no cards and a bad attitude - earning the title of holiday humbug and guaranteed New Year resignations. 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧! Whether you have a big budget or empty pockets, you can embrace the true spirit of the holiday season with specific and genuine appreciation. . . . . #HolidayManagers #FestiveLeadership #OfficeCulture #EmployeeRecognition

Empowering founders/entrepreneurs, CEOs and their organisations to create the impossible. Author or the best-selling book, 'The Inner CEO'.
A Useful Reminder we can give ourselves as we ease into the season of rest and recuperation… June is a time to allow ourselves to slow down and take a break from our work as we approach the halfway point of the year. Holidays are not just a luxury that only the wealthy and successful can afford - we all need to take a break from our working lives, and I have come to see holidays as a non-negotiable when planning my year. At the end of the day, we are all responsible for the condition of our own lives and it starts from inside each of us. Giving ourselves this time to just ‘switch off’ and give ourselves space for thought can often wind up being much more productive than we expect! It is often in these times of relaxation when our greatest ideas and innovations come to us. So have you made a plan to take some downtime over the Summer? #TheInnerCEO #ShaneCradock #FreeThoughtTime
