I appreciated this thoughtful essay by Jemar Tisby, on how to reflect and engage deeply with Black History Month. I encourage you to read the article, but I'll summarize the first few points. 1) go to a museum alone, and take your time. 2) read a whole book on some aspect of Black history. 3) ask a family member or friend to tell you about their experience in this time period.
