Last year, Kapil Wadhera, vice president and general manager of Government Engagements & Business Operations at Intel Foundry, wrote an article explaining why U.S.-built chips can strengthen national security. As the only leading-edge U.S. semiconductor company that develops and manufactures its own technology, Intel has a widespread economic impact in every sector of the U.S. economy. In this article, Kapil describes how Intel is leading America’s semiconductor comeback by partnering with the U.S. Government to help fortify the nation's technological sovereignty while mitigating vulnerabilities. #Intel #IntelFoundry #Foundry

The U.S. is facing significant challenges in maintaining its leadership in semiconductor industry. The nation needs a dependable, onshore foundry partner ecosystem that drives innovation, maintains national security, and bolsters economic prosperity. Intel is the only American company that both designs and manufactures leading-edge logic chips. In my recent blog, I dive into how Intel is leading America’s semiconductor comeback. Please feel free to share or connect with me for any discussion or insight you may have. #CHIPSACT #RAMPC #SHIP #USMAG #SystemsFoundry #Semiconductor #IamIntel

Intel Foundry has made significant strides over the past year as we continue to deliver on our goal of building a world-class systems foundry. Our ecosystem partners are critical to the success of Intel Foundry, so we’re continuing to work closely with all the key EDA and IP partners to enable customers to leverage our groundbreaking technology as they realize their AI ambitions. As part of these efforts, we just hit a new milestone with Ansys, Cadence Design Systems, Siemens, and Synopsys Inc announcing the availability of reference flows for Intel’s embedded multi-die interconnect bridge (EMIB) advanced packaging technology. EMIB technology is a key part of Intel Foundry’s approach to extending Moore’s Law, allowing us to cost-effectively scale to a larger silicon area by connecting multiple die in a single package. This news follows the momentum we announced at Direct Connect, with our ecosystem partners declaring readiness for Intel 18A designs. If you’re attending DAC 2024 this week in San Francisco, make sure to check out the Intel Foundry booth #2337 on the 2nd floor to see demos from four of our ecosystem partners. Thank you, Forbes and TIRIAS Research, for this in-depth look at how the Intel 3 node is a significant step in our five nodes in four years (5N4Y) journey! Intel 3 delivers notable enhancements over the previous Intel 4 node, including an up to 18% improvement in performance. Learn more below. #Intel #IntelFoundry #Foundry
Intel Corporation's IDM 2.0 strategy of delivering 5 process nodes in 4 years is an ambitious one. But with the production ramp of Intel 3, it appears to be a realistic one with impact not only on Intel Foundry's eventual return to profitability but also the competitiveness of Intel's chip solutions. https://lnkd.in/gemwjYFC

At the 2024 VLSI Symposium, Intel Corporation published multiple papers showcasing how Intel Foundry pushes the industry forward and expands our design, packaging, and manufacturing capabilities in a new era of #AI-driven computing. Learn more below! #Intel #IntelFoundry #Foundry
Today, Intel Foundry published multiple papers at the 2024 VLSI Symposium. In one paper, Mac Hafez and colleagues in Foundry Technology Development present an optimized Intel 3 process that achieves a full node in performance per watt and chip density improvement over Intel 4. Through transistor enhancements, interconnect optimizations and design co-optimizations Intel 3 can deliver up to 18% performance gain at iso-power. Read our blog and watch Mac’s video presentation to learn more. https://lnkd.in/eqQF_8dD In another paper, Christopher Pelto and colleagues from multiple Intel groups share details of our passive interposer process technology, highlighting key elements that bring innovation to Intel's heterogeneously integrated Foveros advanced packaging products. A new high density MIM capacitor provides dramatic inductive droop reduction for additional performance. New capabilities within this interposer enable effective integration of CPU, GPU and SOC on multiple process nodes, from multiple foundries, with enhanced performance. These papers and several others presented at VLSI are examples of the innovation Intel Foundry is driving to bring together the components our customers need to design and manufacture chips for a new era of AI-driven computing. Congratulations to Mac, Chris and all of the Intel participants at the symposium. #IntelFoundry #VLSI2024
