🔍 Searching for gamechangers in the effort to harmonise digital trade. ⬇️ ICC Digital Standards Initiative 👉 is an initiative to establish a globally harmonised digital #trade environment. #ICCDSI is driving greater adoption of existing standards and creating new frameworks to unify digital trade processes. 🤔 Why? Recent innovations to digitise the global trading system have resulted in a fragmented market. Great seeing so many industry peers at the EMEA Trading Conference 2024 last Thursday #FIXEMEA2024 Now that the dust has settled, here are my main takeaways: - Expectations for EU consolidated tape are high, as was clearly demonstrated by the crowded room during the panel on this topic. - A survey run in parallel indicates that CT implementation is seen as a low concern. However, T+1 implementation was also among the options, which would have had an impact on the outcome. - In any case, I am convinced that any concern around implementation will progressively reduce as the process moves forward. - Data quality is seen as a key challenge. Here, the main questions relate to the controls to be implemented and the management of duplicate data. - The FIX Trading Community is already working on mechanisms to address these issues. It is great to see the industry working together and EuroCTP will contribute going forward. - Finally, potential changes in timeline remain top of mind for all, but the appetite for a European CT remains strong and EuroCTP is committed to swift and smooth implementation. It is always a pleasure to attend FIX Trading Community events and I look forward to the next one!
