🌱 New white paper by SustainCERT explores how companies can best allocate value chain decarbonization outcomes in complex agricultural systems. The paper introduces the concept of “supply shed re-allocation” as an approach for systems with multiple co-products or crop rotation, which make allocating benefits especially challenging. ✔️ Claim now 100% of your #scope3 reduction intervention This approach can help deliver a robust return to companies investing in emission reduction interventions, while maintaining the credibility of the greenhouse gas mitigation outcomes achieved by those investments. ▶ Access the publication here: [https://lnkd.in/g-4u-ZUN ] Cargill #regenag #ghg #foodindustry #supplysheld #supplychain

It is interesting how global companies are generating good practices to care for the environment. Benchmarking sustainability in the use of ecological products in agricultural production, to reduce CO2 carbon credit. #BusinessIntelligence #Enviromental #Suntentable #NetZero
In the UK, we’re partnering with Cargill and CCm Technologies for a two-year pilot to turn cocoa shells that would otherwise be wasted into low-carbon fertilizer for two local farms which supply Nestlé. If successful, this initiative could result in up to 7,000 tons of low carbon fertilizer, helping us reach a more sustainable supply chain as we work to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. This #ThrowbackThursday comes from our 2023 Jan/Feb issue as Thomas Dethier, Hadrien Leruth, and Sonveaux Marc, Prayon, Belgium, explored the recent technologies and developments of the phosphoric acid industry that are set to contribute towards a more sustainable fertilizer sector. "The path to a fully sustainable phosphate industry is not clear cut. Actions are urgently needed to achieve the sustainable development goals defined a few years ago. For this, some solutions are now offered that can help the industry to move in the most sustainable direction possible. By focusing on responsible consumption and production among other things, for example, the health and education of workers, local communities, and reasonable water and energy use, the fertilizer industry will be able to achieve its goal of feeding the world without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." 🌱 Growing sustainably: What are our options for decarbonizing the traditional fertilizer use around the world? 🌱 Fertilizers play a critical role in boosting crop yields globally and ensuring food security, but this comes with a carbon cost. As we all strive to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement, it's essential that we address this challenge head-on. Last week, our CEO Philip Hardwick and Project Analyst Eva del Río Tortosa joined forces with Samer Fawzy from our strategic partners at Trinity Biocarbon to attend the 2023 Argus Europe Fertilizer Conference in Lisbon, Portugal with one goal in mind: forging partnerships within the fertilizer industry to drive innovative decarbonization solutions. We were excited to explore one game-changing solution: #Biochar Technologies. Reach out to learn more! One significant development within the industry is the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) which will come fully into force in 2026. It will require EU fertilizer importers to report embedded emissions and purchase CBAM certificates linked to EU ETS carbon price. We would love to hear your thoughts on this. Let's keep pushing boundaries and working together to make a significant impact on global agriculture and our environment. Stay tuned for more updates to make a net-zero world. 🌎💚 Thank you Argus Media for organizing such an inspiring event! 👏 #Sustainability #Agriculture #Decarbonisation #Innovation #Fertilizers #CBAM
