NEWS: Jack’s Tomorrow is partnering with Yale University School of Medicine! Jack’s Tomorrow will provide $250,000 over two years to support the research of two Yale scientists – Chief of Medical Genetics Yong-Hui Jiang, M.D., Ph.D, and Professor of Neurosurgery and Biomedical Engineering Jiangbing Zhou, Ph.D – in their efforts to better understand how our disease works and develop potential therapies. These scientists have a strong track record in precision medicine approaches targeted to rare neurodevelopmental disorders like PURA Syndrome. Three projects from the Yale team will build a strong foundation for guiding development of molecular therapies for PURA Syndrome, by: 1. Generating induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), which are derived from PURA Syndrome patients. 2. Analyzing in detail the molecular and behavioral features of mouse models of PURA Syndrome, toward enabling further study of newly identified PURA therapies. 3. Understanding how the RNA molecule MALINC1 controls PURA activity in human and mouse cells. This new project is one of several that we have underway, including research we’re supporting at The Hospital for Sick Children, The Jackson Laboratory, and Baylor College of Medicine’s Center for Precision Medicine Models. We asked some of our brilliant minds at Medicon Village how they spend their summer holidays and about their professional focus for the second half of 2024. This is how Jonas Söderström at BioStock answered: "Summers are spent with my family and we always try to squeeze in a trip to Italy 🇮🇹, preferably driving down (by EV of course) so we can explore spontaneously along the way. As someone said: ”the journey is the goal, not the actual destination” – or something like that. And when mentioning goals: being in Milan surrounded by crazy football fans when Italy scored that last-second goal to stay in the Euro Cup was one spectacular memory we got, this time around! At BioStock we have our sights set on providing our clients and Swedish life science with even more visibility and value, by constantly developing new services, build our media platform and expand our popular events. With the successful premiere of the Global Forum event in May behind us, we’re looking forward to the BioStock Summit i November with several new features (cliffhanger!), but before that we’ll also have an investor focused event in Stockholm in September… it’s gonna be great. But first we’ll enjoy some more summer laziness!" #brilliantminds #lifescience #sciencepark BioStock - Connecting Innovation and Capital
