I talk about Edupreneuring: How I've built a thriving educational business for a decade (and you can too) 🧙🏼♂️🔮 Friend to Ruckus Makers 🏴☠️✌️ 3x Best Selling Author 📚 TOP 0.5% Podcast Host🎙️🌍👀
Meet Loren Brody, an East Coast principal with 7+ years in the Ruckus Maker Mastermind™. He leads an arts-integrated public elementary school, focusing on creativity and community building. Loren faced a common challenge: attracting top talent in a competitive educational landscape. With fewer candidates interested in education, he needed to stand out to secure the best teachers. Initially, Loren's recruitment approach was "plain." He attended job fairs with typical setups and sent generic emails. His interview process lacked differentiation from other schools. Through our Do School Different™ framework, Loren learned to create a memorable experience for candidates. He made three key changes: 1. Rewrote email pitches, emphasizing the school's unique identity: "We're not your average public elementary school. We're an arts integrated learning team dedicated to grassroots community building." 2. Developed new interview questions aligned with school values, revealing candidates' cultural competence and reflective capacity. 3. Considered implementing a "School Leadership Scorecard" in interviews, turning them into professional development experiences. The results were immediate. Candidates responded enthusiastically, saying, "Wow, that's exactly the kind of school I'm looking for!" The quality of responses improved dramatically. Concerned about candidates faking their way through? The depth and uniqueness of this approach make it difficult to simply "put on a show," revealing genuine alignment and passion. Ready to transform your school's recruitment and attract top talent? Join The Ruckus Maker Club and learn to Do School Different™. Membership is open now for a limited time. Comment #RuckusMaker and I'll message you a link to join us.

MD of Mitchell & Stones | Event Director | Digital Marketing Strategist | Typically working with companies who are frustrated with an underperforming marketing function and are confused about how to fix it
This week I was invited to a panel discussion to talk about the event sector to students One of the topics that emerged was breaking into the industry and applying for roles I personally believe the ‘1 click application’ for roles in some cases is doing more harm than good The pros - Apply for multiple roles with a pre filled application The cons - You forget what you have applied for so need to wing it when you get an out of the blue phone call from the business - Employers are SWAMPED with applications with many not on par causing significant time investment to dig out the gems I had one big suggestion to help separate them from other candidates 1) Apply 2) Give them a call to let them know you’ve applied and to make sure they received the application ok and how you are looking forward to finding out if it makes sense for you to have a conversation with them And/or 3) Send a LinkedIn message to the person responsible for hiring that role if you can identify them following a similar pattern to step 2 Do you agree and would you add or chang anything?

I improve talent acquisition and retention, improving your bottom line. Employer Brand • Communications • Employee Experience
How many online workshops or webinars have you attended where you've spent a majority of the time multi-tasking, or realized at the end that you didn't get much out of your time -- or even worse, you could have led the event yourself? Yeah... this isn't that. Katrina Kibben is hosting a live candidate experience audit on 16 April that will use case studies and strategies to make sure you leave with actionable insights. You don't just want MORE candidates (& if you think you do, you don't), you want BETTER candidates. Focusing on the #CandidateExperience is a great way to ensure you're giving all people who can make an impact at your company a fair shot. Register: https://lnkd.in/eNFF4yKM
