We, as humans, are social beings that rely on collaboration to survive and thrive.📈 At Corteva Agriscience, collaboration is one of our key values. We are constantly collaborating with experts and partners to develop innovative solutions, but this is not enough. We also need collaboration among farmers, policymakers and the industry. EU decisions impact farmers, resulting in them having fewer options and opportunities. EU decisions can further impact the lives and livelihoods of farmers in other regions of the world, like Africa. Let's take a holistic approach, work together and ensure no one is left behind.

🌍 Advocate for Smallholders & Biodiversity | Strengthening Ag & Forestry Supply Chains | Systems Thinker in Regenerative Agriculture, Climate Adaptation, & Public-Private Partnerships 🌱
I cherish conversations like the one I had with dss+, where I reflect on my #careerjourney. As important as it is to speak about the experiences that shaped my career, I also shared my view of the future. I believe that as businesses evolve, so will #sustainability be naturally integrated into the business operations, from R&D to designing the solutions we offer our customers. Sustainability roles will, sooner or later, become obsolete. As my early experience in the fields interacting with the frontline teams has taught me a lot about adapting to change, I look forward to embracing this #change too. #LeadershipinAg #Sustainability #MakingaDifference
Formative years in the field have shaped Cherie Tan’s career and her approach to #sustainability. Now Head of Public Affairs, Science and Sustainability for Asia Pacific at Bayer | Crop Science, Cherie spoke with dss⁺ about the lessons that stayed with her, the future of sustainability, as well as the reasons why she encourages other leaders to head out into the field. #LeadersMakingADifference https://lnkd.in/gG_akMHk

Executive Director at Bayer, Head of Procurement LATAM. Visionary and catalyst people leader; trusted professional in general management, supply chain and strategy.
Human Rights it`s a shared responsibility! As we strive to create an inclusive economic growth and a sustainable business environment, at Bayer we embrace a paramount responsibility to integrate Human Rights into every aspect of our way to do business. … and we know the commitment to support and enhance Human Rights cannot be shouldered by individuals or entities in isolation… but as a community, from regulators, through companies, to individuals. That is why Crop Science Procurement LATAM is fostering partnership with our suppliers to collaborate closely and ensure that Human Rights are not just upheld but are boosted at every link of the supply chain. A few days ago we had our first Human Right Day with vendors, in Brazil. It was a session of deep dialogue about how we can collaborate in even better ways to secure we know and implement the best practices in different aspects as working conditions, fair trade and no discrimination and inclusion… check out a video with a brief. My colleague Thiago Alves, Director for Seed Production Latam, and I had the honor to open the session, remarking how fundamental are Human Rights to our operations. Great engagement from our suppliers; special thanks to Claudia Moura, with Grupo Toniato and Rodolpho Simas, with Cargill, for sharing their experiences in the round table moment. Thanks to Bayer speakers Livia Sousa, Danielly Martin, Ettore Rossi and Vinicius Almeida. And thanks a lot to the Pro Team who organized this event: Livia Sousa, Thais Amaral, Rafa Marques, Rafa Riberio, Paula Londonio, Vitor Reginaldo and Ana Barbara Pereira. #HumanRights #CorporateResponsibility #SustainableDevelopment

Our (Astrid Huopalainen & José-Carlos García-Rosell) commentary "Beyond Anthropocentrism: A Call to Action for Multispecies Inclusivity" is now published in Business & Society. Abstact: Acknowledging organizations within a multispecies world is crucial for advancing sustainability. This commentary advocates for “multispecies inclusivity” in business and society as a new concept, transcending the traditional anthropocentrism that determines whose interests “matter.” We offer insights into this concept, discuss associated challenges, and propose pathways for implementing it into organizational practices. Here's to the 'stars' of the show, those who form the backbone of secondary raw material flows. Without waste recovery, there would be no chance for value addition and no hope for giving multiple lives to circulating materials. There is no milestone we could achieve in fostering the circular economy for single-use plastics without looking to the daily workers who ensure that the wheels keep turning. We celebrate these stars, and we commit through our actions to continue empowering them with decent work in our quest to drive sustainable production & consumption. #wecreatechemistry #decentwork #circulareconomy
Recall that I had shared some posts to introduce to you BASF West Africa’s project STAR which aims to provide a second life to single-use polystyrene food containers also popularly called “Take Away Packs”. Our ambition is to measure our success from a total value to society perspective; economically by deploying sustainable profitable business models, environmentally by preventing littering and uncontrolled release to the aquatic environment, and socially by creating valuable jobs in the communities. As we progress on this journey, we must take a moment to celebrate our unsung heroes. Without them, nothing would happen. They are an essential element driving the circular economy – fronting our efforts to close the loop – but rarely put on stage despite their contributions. So here we want to appreciate the Lagos pickers proudly represented by Kehinde Gafar, Risikat Oladipupo, Oyinlola Wahab, and the BASF West Africa’s project staff, Paul Udofia and Sodiq Adebayo. A very big thank you to you all. You deserve our recognition! #wecreatechemistry Akintayo Adisa Ph.D Boluwatito Aiyepola James Joseph Babafemi Afesojaye Rémy Jambon Jambon Olawale Adebiyi Rafiat Ayoola Wecyclers Corporation
