To OSU’s College of Health Science, With all advances made in health sciences including osteopathic medical training, an appropriate beneficial change would be changing the DO degree to MD. This would show that osteopathic training is all inclusive of medical care and delivery. It would clear DOs serving abroad that health care would be the same as MDs. The osteopathic part of training could remain for those wanting to persue this specialty. Dental schools are beginning to change their degrees to DMD in place of older DDS for similar reasons of complete dental coverage. Sooner or later this change of degree will come. It may also become more cost effective to have this change. Best New Year to all. Leon J Yoder, DO, FACP

The University of Memphis Magazine: Summer 2024 edition is out and the School of Public Health is proud to be recognized on page 8 for being a co-recipient of the Harrison C. In the article Dr. Joshi states, "Investing in youth health and well-being is essential to economic growth and social change." Dr. Joshi further states "It's not just about creating a workforce or dolling out degrees. We have a much larger responsibility as public-health educators. We need to be more creative, dynamic and entrepreneurial. In an aging society, we need a new community of learners to re-envision, revolutionize and eventually lead the field of public health."
