National Institutes of Health (NIH): Intramural Research Program (IRP)’s Post

Dr. Marston Linehan at the National Cancer Institute (NCI)'s Center for Cancer Research received the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary’s Award for Distinguished Service in recognition of his discoveries about the genes that drive kidney cancer. He and his colleagues discovered or co-discovered nine distinct forms of kidney cancer and identified 10 different genes that cause them. These discoveries have provided the basis for targeted therapies and new approaches to treatment. Learn how his work has transformed the way in which doctors treat the disease: https://go.nih.gov/wucGGtm #NIH_IRP #kidneycancer
