I don't follow all the celebration days, it can get tiresome. But I saw that today is International HR Day, and HR professionals don't always get the credit they often deserve. HR is more than process, policies and recruitment. A great company is made of a group of great people and how they are supported by HR can make a real difference to how happy and engaged they are. Here are some of the initiatives that our People and Culture (a better name than HR) Manager has put in to engage, listen and support our team. If you don't do these, I would whole-heartedly recommend them: BabelChats - a 30-minute check-in to see how each of the team are and listen to what is happening in their world. Giving the team a chance to talk and express how they are feeling BabelFest - an annual day where we celebrate our culture. We fit a bit of company updates in, but with a hybrid team, it's a chance to come together, collaborate, communicate, and connect.
