So it's really easy way to get your hardware into reality. Hey, it's Simon with IP Exchange. We're here at Hardware Pioneers Max 2024, and I'm with a very familiar face, Gavin from Rack Wireless. So before we launch into this little guy here, Gavin, for our audience who haven't seen videos with you before, what do you do at Rack Wallace And what does Rack Wireless do in general? Thanks for the intro. Hey, Amen. So Rack Wireless in general, we are a private network hardware business. Specifically focusing on Laura Wann, Laura Wan technology and surrounding hardware. So that's kind of in a nutshell, what what we do as a business, what I do, I kind of bit of a hybrid in the business. Both their product developer and I helped our customers in the UK and Europe find the the right solution from our product range. Cool. So last year we talked about Wisp block and this looks very familiar as well. So what's going on here? So Wiz block, yes, a good memory. So Wiz Block is our modular hardware. Platform which allows you to build so any kind of IoT device from in a modular blocks hence the name and to quote another brand name is like Lego, Lego for electronic hardware. So we have this product which actually is built entirely 100% from Wiz block, but it actually is a product you can buy ready made from us. It's actually a loan field tester, but it's actually built from from Rose block internally and it uses our cool modular enclosure cool. So in terms of the applications that an engineer would use this in and the problems it solved, what what kind of what would you highlight you you'd be using this device to plan out your Lora Wan network would be interested in signal strength, you know, and how you might deploy your IT solution. And the cool thing is, imagine you could have like an end to end rack wireless solution. You could have a gateway from rack wireless. So I'll call focus. You could have your field tester to plan and deploy that network and you could build your. In device from Wiz block and Rottweilers hardware. So that's a really cool concept yeah, what what blocks are in here and there's a range of modules and we have something from the outside in we have a a capacitive touch screen for it's not turned on the moment there's a glass touch screen here and we have the display driver module. We have one of our core modules which are the law awareness elements of that. We have baseboard power supply battery. And I believe there's also we have GPS module in there as well yeah, it's all kind of. Cleverly put together and hosted with a kind of the modular mounting plate in the enclosure and with this nice external antenna which is part of the the package. It's cool. And in terms of other options within the Wisp Bloc family, if someone wanted to build something similar to that but with a bit more functionality, what could they add? They could add so much more. So Wiz Block is made-up of 130 modules and it's growing every month. It's more from last time as well. Yeah, Yeah. So. It it it you just imagine what you want to do or could do, There's probably a module for that. However, some things if you know about is we offer customization within the Wiz Block product range. So if you've got a module that you need or adapting, we'll customize it for you or even design you a new module. And I remember the last time we talked about this because it's a modular, one of the special things was is not like you need a minimum order of like say 10 of the same module. You can have 10 different modules, correct? You're correct. It's the correct yeah, you can you can buy one module from anywhere from the family. You can buy 100, you buy 1001 of the advantages that kind of low MQ gives you is. Customers deploying IT solutions some some use cases. Don't rely upon one node, one hardware solution. You know, they have hundreds of nodes, but they're all the same. They have, you know, five or six or seven different variations. Wisbrock is a great platform to to do that. Both from the point of view of you actually, that's your final use case. You need seven different designs. Yeah. And it's hard to design seven things. Or actually some folks are using Wiz block as a, as a kind of a test bed. OK, let's deploy it like this. We didn't quite get it right. Let's go out again. Let's swap that module with a different one. You know, no, no hard pain to suffer. It's really flexible and adaptable. Yeah, without really low MQ of of one unit. Yeah. Nice. So always good to see you, Gavin. Yeah, you too. Thank you. How does an IoT system work?
Two components are mandatory to achieve universal object interaction via the internet: IoT sensors and IoT connectivity devices.
Sensors detect various physical phenomena including heat, pressure, movement, humidity, and smoke. IoT connectivity devices can receive data from sensors using Bluetooth or specific 4G and IoT-oriented protocols. Gateway devices collect data from sensors, pack that data, sometimes preprocess it, and send it to a web server where it’s processed.
This processing might result in calculating statistics and trends, initiating specific actions like turning on an irrigation system, or generating an alert in case of an emergency or anomaly.
Pretty easy, right?

Martin Lehmann, researcher for smart multisensor systems at Fraunhofer IIS/EAS will give some insights about exploring tests with Vibrometers with Elbesoft IoT.
🏙 In the era of smart cities, where a variety of sensors are used, it is of utmost importance to thoroughly test these sensors and validate their specifications before widespread implementation. This way, cities can ensure that the sensors meet their requirements in terms of performance, durability and reliability.
🔍 Together with Elbesoft IoT, planning office for IoT and smart city solutions, Fraunhofer IIS/EAS conducted intensive tests on a LoRaWan sensor used in building substance monitoring.
The performance of the sensor was verified in different frequency ranges. In doing so, we confirmed the precision of the sensor in low frequency ranges using the vibrometry method.
