There are clearly issues around long distance journeys and the fast charging infrastructure to support this. However the vast majority of vehicles will be charged off peak at home with a charger that uses the same amount of power as a domestic electric shower. Energy suppliers are already modulating the supply to suit demand and grid load and using green energy, eg wind, at night when other demand is low. The better chargers will also harness solar power from domestic PV panels. I.C.E vehicles are more like concorde!
