🎊Yara Clean Ammonia's renewable hydrogen plant at Herøya, Norway is officially open!🎊      We have reached a major milestone in our decarbonization journey by producing hydrogen and ammonia with renewable energy. 🎉  Made with electrolysis of water and renewable energy, the hydrogen produced at the plant will replace natural gas as feedstock and annually cut 41,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions from the site, marking an important step in our decarbonization journey! ♻️    💚 This project has come to life thanks to partnerships across the whole value chain. A big thank you to Lantmännen, who’s been committed as a customer since the very start. The hurdles we’ve encountered in the project have been solved thanks to trust and close cooperation with our EPC-contractor Linde Engineering and PEM electrolyser manufacturer ITM Power. We also want to thank Enova SF for contributing with a grant, enabling us to reach the investment decision.   Yara Clean Ammonia is also working to enable the hydrogen economy by producing low-carbon ammonia with carbon capture & storage (CCS). Essential to reach the Paris Agreement, low-carbon ammonia and CCS is a critical step to decarbonize rapidly and profitably. We're also thrilled to share we've already delivered the first tonnes of fertilisers made from renewable ammonia produced at the plant to Lantmännen! 🎉 Yara's renewable hydrogen plant is the largest of its kind currently in operation in Europe, and here, hydrogen is produced with electrolysis of water and renewable energy, replacing natural gas as feedstock and annually cutting 41,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions from the site. ♻️ We’re also working to enable the hydrogen economy by producing low-carbon ammonia with carbon capture & storage (CCS). Proud after my visit to Poland   Nature Energy and I have been pioneers in the development of biogas and biomethane. This is an energy source that has not always been met with the support and recognition that I believe this green circular energy deserves. There is a need for more green gas, not just in Denmark, but across the globe.   Last week, together with several leading Danish companies, I was part of the Royal visit supporting the official green trade campaign in Poland with the participation of four Danish cabinet ministers and HM King Frederik X.   Here I had the opportunity to sign a letter of intent with SIME Polska, outlining how we can contribute to continue developing the possibilities for biomethane in Poland. That is one of two reasons why I am proud.   The second is that the new Danish King in his speech expressed official Denmark's support for biogas. We have come a long way over the past ten years. Read here a selection of the King's speech: “The CEO’s of some of the world’s leading companies will during the official visit address these challenges through innovation and transformation of their products, methods and services.  The need for decarbonisation and establishment of sources of green energy is essential.  We can make better use of the energy we already have by improving energy efficiency, for example in buildings, industrial facilities and cities.  Our agricultural sector can be more climate-friendly, by adding biogas and bio methane energy into the energy mix. In Denmark, we have for many years been working in public-private partnerships to develop renewable technologies in areas such as energy efficiency, biogas and methane, but also offshore wind, onshore energy sources, and establishment of reliable transmission systems for electricity and gas. Poland and Denmark have worked closely together on many of these areas for several years. In the next few days, we will deepen our collaboration on further outlining decarbonisation strategies.”

"Renewable ammonia is an important part of the decarbonization puzzle, however developing it at scale takes time. As the world is rapidly approaching 2030, we are also working to produce low-carbon ammonia with CCS to enable the hydrogen economy and develop the emerging markets for low-emission ammonia," says Hans-Olav Raen, CEO of Yara Clean Ammonia.   Last week, we celebrated the inauguration of our 24 MW renewable hydrogen plant at Herøya Industrial Park in Porsgrunn. Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, who was with us at the project's launch two years ago, returned to witness its realization. 🌿 Once fully operational, this plant will produce around 20,000 tonnes of renewable ammonia annually, cutting 41,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions from the site. In Poland, SUEZ consolidates its position as a major player in the European market for renewable energy from waste.   SUEZ becomes a shareholder in ARA Cursus alongside Eiffel Investment Group and Bourgogne, acquiring a majority stake in the company, which develops and operates anaerobic digestion plants for biogas.   ARA has developed a portfolio of 9 agricultural biogas projects in the country, one of which is already operational. Each project has a renewable energy capacity of 1 MW.   With the combined production of renewable energy and biofertiliser, ARA's biogas plants will contribute to Poland's low-carbon energy transition and circular economy.

🌏🤝Strategic Alliance Signed! Hans-Olav Raen, CEO of Yara Clean Ammonia, and Kolli Mahesh, President of AM Green, have officially signed a term sheet that is set to shape the future of renewable energy. The agreement commits to off-take of up to 50% of the renewable ammonia from the first phase of AM Green’s new facility in Kakinada, India, set to launch by 2027. ✅ Future impact will boost global supplies of renewable ammonia, aiding the decarbonization of industries like shipping and power generation, aligned with EU standards. Exciting news from Norway, where Yara International (of which I am a proud investor) has recently opened the world's largest renewable 24 MW hydrogen plant in Porsgrunn. This achievement is considered a "major milestone" in the development of the Hydrogen Economy, according to Svein Tore Holsether Green Hydrogen is produced through the electrolysis of water using renewable energy, likely hydroelectric power, which is abundant in Norway's mountainous and wet regions⛈️. To facilitate easier transport and energy storage, it is then combined with nitrogen from the atmosphere to produce ammonia🎈➡️🧂. I believe the business model for these commodities will follow a trajectory similar to Tesla's early stages, focusing on top-tier products and high-end customers initially.
