Another milestone towards the green #hydrogen market in the #EU! 🇪🇺🇪🇺 Today, Yara Clean #Ammonia unveiled the renewable hydrogen pilot plant in #Norway in the #herøya industrial park. ❓But what’s in for you? 🍃This is the biggest green hydrogen #electrolyzer project into operation in Europe, with a 24 MW power. It is the first step towards ours and Europe’s green future. We hope this can be one of many similar projects to kick start the clean EU H2 economy, but we need an enabling framework and policies to create #demand for #low-carbon and green end products, such as #fertilizers based on electrolysis. #DYK that green fertilizers have -90% #CO2 #footprint? This means that their use can reduce up to 15-25% the #carbon footprint of the food we eat! 🤯 Time to act is now! ⏰ #cleanammonia #hydrogen #EUGreenDeal #carbon #GHG #climate

🎊Yara Clean Ammonia's renewable hydrogen plant at Herøya, Norway is officially open!🎊      We have reached a major milestone in our decarbonization journey by producing hydrogen and ammonia with renewable energy. 🎉  Made with electrolysis of water and renewable energy, the hydrogen produced at the plant will replace natural gas as feedstock and annually cut 41,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions from the site, marking an important step in our decarbonization journey! ♻️    💚 This project has come to life thanks to partnerships across the whole value chain. A big thank you to Lantmännen, who’s been committed as a customer since the very start. The hurdles we’ve encountered in the project have been solved thanks to trust and close cooperation with our EPC-contractor Linde Engineering and PEM electrolyser manufacturer ITM Power. We also want to thank Enova SF for contributing with a grant, enabling us to reach the investment decision.   Yara Clean Ammonia is also working to enable the hydrogen economy by producing low-carbon ammonia with carbon capture & storage (CCS). Essential to reach the Paris Agreement, low-carbon ammonia and CCS is a critical step to decarbonize rapidly and profitably. While Yara Clean Ammonia is uniquely positioned to deliver decarbonized solutions quickly and at scale, the green transition will require capital, predictable framework conditions, funding, affordable renewable energy, and a market where demand and supply are developed simultaneously. 🤝       Learn more 👉 https://lnkd.in/dASBQrRD
