The event was filled with enthusiastic and far-sighted professionals who have the drive to bring about long-term sustainable growth in data science. Our team at NUS-ISS Alumni Community successfully organised this session at IBM studios. We are proud of our alumni (Ram Nagarajan, Yih Yng Ng, Kenneth Z., Maureen Tan, and Chandrika Kadirvel Mani) for leading the panel discussion. They are indeed trailblazers in leading the path towards the industry's future. We would also like to thank Abhishek Kaul for helping us make this panel discussion happen. At NUS-ISS, we constantly seek to organise events that can serve as platforms for the brightest minds across industries to gather and collectively NUS ISS Alumni Community at NUS-ISS

We are always proud of our #nusissalumni and very grateful to have them come back to share their insights as industry leaders with the community is priceless! What's more? It was the 1st time we hosted a NUS-ISS Alumni Community panel session at IBM studios, all thanks to Abhishek Kaul and Ram Nagarajan (MTECH EBAC alumnus!) With the strong cast of panellists, Dr Yih Yng Ng Kenneth Z. Maureen Tan and Chandrika Kadirvel Mani, it was full house attendance and good exchanges. Oh, and a demo of the IBM's sidekick each IBM-er have access to. From the discussion about "Gen AI and What's Next?", here are some useful points from the panel: *Correlation does not equate causation. *Every data scientist is a guardian of data. *You can ask AI to help you and do it for you, but leaving it entirely to AI? No, not yet. Human is the last gatekeeper, for now. *Project Management, communication and stakeholder management skills are important to synchronize tech and business values. * Having domain knowledge and expertise is important for knowing the business to tailor-made tech to serve the business. *If you are afraid of technology you will be eaten. Embrace technology to grow and add value. * Be hands-on, participate in hackathons and always have a project portfolio to showcase so that people know what you can deliver. #GenAI #Innovation #TechTalk #NUSISS #IBM #FutureOfWork Adeline Lim Clara Lee Edgar Tai Jean W.
