Bigger pay packet? Move to a new country? Holiday? Likely to make you happier for the long term? Every study on the subject of happiness has come back to this simple truth... Doing good makes you feel good, regardless of who knows about it. Getting away with doing something less helpful has the opposite effect, regardless of who knows about it. Help someone to move forward today. Don't tell LinkedIn about it, just crack on and do a small deed to help someone, you will thank me for it.

While a salary increase is often seen as a path to happiness, there are other, often more effective ways to enhance well-being. Consider these alternatives, each with its equivalent 'salary' value: 1. Physical Health (Worth £400K): Regular exercise and a healthy diet. 2. Being Married (£100K): A supportive and loving partnership. 3. A Friend You See Often (£100K): Maintain close, frequent connections. 4. Seeing Your Neighbour (£60K): Engage in your local community. 5. Pursue Hobbies: Engage in activities that bring personal fulfilment. Remember, happiness often comes from sources beyond monetary gains. #Happiness #LifeSatisfaction #BeyondMoney

🚀 Unlocking True Happiness: Rethinking the Pursuit of Income 🌟 Ever felt that a salary boost could be the key to a happier life? You're not alone! A recent survey by Empower reveals fascinating insights into the link between income and happiness. Here are some eye-opening findings: 📊 The Numbers Game: Respondents, with a median salary of $65,000, believe a median of $95,000 would bring them contentment. Even high earners, with a median income of $250,000, aspire for a median of $350,000. 💰 Reality Check: While employers project a 3.9% pay increase in 2024, Americans suggest they'd need almost a 50% raise to achieve happiness. But is the impact of money on happiness as significant as we think? 🧠 The Psychology Behind It: Research suggests that the happiness derived from a raise might not be as life-changing as expected. Elizabeth Dunn, a psychology professor, emphasizes the importance of how we use our money, advocating for a focus on immediate-term happiness. ⌛ Time Over Money: Dunn's research highlights the significance of prioritizing time over money for a happier life. Rather than constantly chasing a higher income, she suggests finding contentment in utilizing our resources wisely. 🎯 Never Enough: Even when reaching new pay tiers, individuals often set their sights on the next milestone. The pursuit of more seems ingrained in human nature, with even millionaires expressing the desire for a 50% increase in wealth for an extra point of happiness. 🤔 Food for Thought: What if we redirected our focus from constant advancement to appreciating the perfection in our lives? Is there a balance between ambition and contentment? 💡 Key Takeaway: Money matters, but happiness is a multi-faceted equation. Let's engage in a thoughtful discussion: What's your perspective on the relationship between income and happiness? Can we find contentment without constantly reaching for more? #Happiness #IncomeMatters #WorkLifeBalance #CareerGrowth #MindsetShift #PersonalDevelopment Let's spark a conversation and redefine the pursuit of happiness! 💬✨

Pay or passion!? I love this question brought up by LinkedIn last week. I have clients that would go either way. Some need a more fulfilling work life. They need impact and meaning. It gives them the energy and happiness they need to support their personal life. They don't need the material things and the money to support them. Some focus on the pay. If they can grind through the 9-5 it provides them opportunities to enjoy that pay with their family and friends. They find the meaning in their personal lives. The pay supports their personal goals. I do think you can also have both. Some find passion in their work and it ends up increasing their pay. They invest more of their time and energy and motivate those around them with the passion they come to work with each day. As I have said in the past, can you put up the blinders around you and focus on the life that means the most to you? Any thoughts? #payorpassion

These pieces of advice should be handed over to every employee. These are golden words: ADVICE TO ALL EMPLOYEES 1. Build a home earlier. Be it rural home or urban home. Building a house at 50 is not an achievement. Don't get used to government houses. This comfort is so dangerous. Let all your family have good time in your house. 2. Go home. Don't stick at work all the year. Make your family a priority. 3. Don't chase promotions. Master your skills and be excellent at what you do. If they want to promote you, that's fine if they don't, stay positive to your personal development. 4. Avoid office or work gossip. Avoid things that tarnish your name or reputation. Don't join the bandwagon that backbites your bosses and colleagues. Stay away from negative gatherings that have only people as their agenda. 5. Don't ever compete with your bosses. You will burn your fingers. Don't compete with your colleagues, you will fry your brain. 6. Save some money. Let it be deducted automatically from your payslip. 7. Keep your life, marriage and family private. Let them stay away from your work. This is very important. 8. Be loyal to yourself and believe in your work. 9. Join work welfare and be an active member always. It will help you a lot when any eventuality. Hope this will help you look at life positively

Money can't buy happiness. It's normal to assume a larger bonus or raise will solve all our problems and we'll be on a better path forward. After the honeymoon phase of a raise, the old stressors from work, life, relationships, etc. reappear. Then we think about how the next raise or bonus would fix things. You work nonstop for a good payday, but you probably don't think about your money when your relationships suffer because all you do is work. Health and time are things money cannot buy and should be part of the happiness equation. Get a salary that supports your needs, but don't neglect the other areas that also impact happiness. I'd rather have a modest income, have a healthy lifestyle, and have time to do the things I want than chase the highest pay and be miserable. It's all about balance. #happiness #time https://lnkd.in/g6wn5wPG

Selling Team Leader @ Aerie by AEO | Customer-Obsessed, Team-Development, Results Driven, Diversity & Inclusion makes us stronger ✨
I’ll say it now, I’ll say it a month from now, a year from now, and always. We’re mostly fortunate enough to have resources whether we’re hourly or salary when working on a W-2. Use them. Reach out unapologetically. Take the time off that you need. Ask your Leader, HR, peers for more info around your company’s PTO & Leave policies, and take that time away. The business will be and operate as a business per usual, even without you. Your mental health and well-being will always come first. If you’ve ever been a people pleaser like me to the point of nearly sabatoging your own boundaries and happiness, this is for you. If you’re seeing this, this is for you ✨ It is MORE than okay, to respectfully put your foot down and ask/say— •I am NOT okay. •I need help. •I need resources. •Where do I start? •I need just an extra couple days away. •What can I do to make me, a better me, so that I can be the LEADER/Friend/Daughter/Mother that they deserve me to be? •My mind is cluttered. •I haven’t been able to grieve. •I’ve completely lost myself. Operating like a robot isn’t healthy. YOU are not a robot. You are a human being that deserves your down time, and away time. We spend nearly 64,000 hours of our lives working, (and that’s IF you work a normal 8-hour day) Be the best type of selfish for you, for once 🙂
