23 Years facilitating growth for company founders and individuals

I spoke about kind acts this week. I suspect Poppy may be one of the most resourceful individuals you interview this week. I'm sharing the post in the hope my network may be in a position to help. I'm also interested to learn more about the adjustments and technologies that are available Pieter Bruinsma as ignorance is often the main blocker to moving something forward.

My youngest daughter is 20. A beautiful, kind, intelligent, caring and wonderful person. She loves travel and tourism. Yet she has never worked a day in her life. She searches for work daily, attends all of her Job Center appointments and has attended many interviews. So why is she not enjoying a job? Why at 20 has she not had that feeling and enjoyed that first wages payment hitting her bank account? The reason is simple. Discrimination. Just like me here, my daughter introduces herself first and then she tells you about a condition that she lives with. My daughter is blind. Would you have guessed? But now you know, your looking at her picture again? Trying to put that mental picture together. Since she was 16 and able to look for work she had 0 job offers. None. 40+ job interviews. Now I'm going to ask you something. Who do you see in the picture now? A Blind Person Or a young lady with amazing potential. Because I see the latter. If you or anyone in my network has a vacancy in travel and tourism, who has the ability to get to know my daughter and what she can do, and cater for some minor adjustments to enable her to deliver her duties then please reach out to me. She doesn't see herself as disabled. Only you can do that.

Hi Pieter, we are not in travel or tourism so I am sorry we cannot help there but have you thought of working with your daughter and the numerous agencies out there to set up as an independent travel agent / travel programme planner? Does your daughter speak any languages? It would then be a case of networking of which there are hundreds of V2G networking events where they would welcome a travel agent and marketing / advertising. This may not be the easiest route but you could totally bypass the prejudice as your daughter would be her own boss and her drive and determination to succeed would be a banner for others? If your daughter does decide to go down this route, I highly recommend Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and especially Ann Scott and David James Bell I hope this helps and I wish you and everyone’s sons and daughters a future in which they can be given the opportunity to succeed on merit. I can't thank you all enough. Lots of paths for Poppy to explore. She has just landed in Greece about 1 hour ago and is there for 1 week. I will be sure to show her all of your comments, suggestions, guidance and advice. It really is appreciated 👏

I still just see a smokin hot young woman. What are her strengths? Capitalism is built on exploitation. What can be exploited about her? What is she educated in? What is she passionate about? Certainly her beauty is an option. Don’t listen to feminist delusions, beauty is a real commodity. And be sure she understands It’s not her dysfunction that is keeping her out of a job it’s capitalism’s dysfunction. Capitalism is built largely on “sight”….even more so in this digital age. Young healthy vision I might add! Wait! What am I even saying? F@ck jobs! They’re hideous & oppressive & dysfunctional & destroying the economy & community…. Help her develop her own revenue streams. Help her transcend the idiocy of a job & invest in herself. Then she will be the only one who can say “no” to her.

Great to see the support. My brother is blind, he lost his sight at the age of 30. After him going through the process of accepting this condition he has achieved so much in his life. Why? Because he found other ways of doing things. Employers can also find other ways and employ them, because they are a human being.

This chap has a super profile and has a biz that creates tours for blind people... wondering if there is synergy here? https://www.linkedin.com/in/amar-latif-36043213/ @amarlatif

I truly hope your daughter fulfills her dreams. Life and people in general can be so cruel. Wishing her every success.

I wish I could help her but no, I can’t. But what I can do is recognise, acknowledge, and be reminded of how much we all take for granted. What a wonderful young lady she is. And not being a father myself, but the son of one who gave every minute and dollar to “bail me out” of the 1987 market crash and gave me a career again, the love of a father knows no bounds. It’s obvious you have such a very special relationship and I wish you all a successful outcome from this post. Thank you for sharing and reminding why we always need to adjust our compass back to true north. I have no doubt it’s all ahead for your gifted daughter. Just one chance and recognition of ability and she will show what she can do.
