eZELOS S4 Twin-Hybrid – SAFETY FIRST When developing and designing the eZELOS S4, safety is our top priority. The entire eZELOS S4 propulsion system (Patent in progress), including the generators, requires only a gearbox and no clutches, making it simple and reducing maintenance costs. The electric primary propulsion system is redundant, with two independent electric motors operating in a single housing. In addition, the eZELOS S4 has autorotation functions, which the electric motor and batteries can additionally support if both generators fail. The eZELOS S4 will feature two completely independent hybrid systems, each with its own LiFePO4 batteries. Thanks to their intrinsically safe design, these LiFePO4 cells are extremely robust against environmental influences such as vibrations, pressure changes, and temperature fluctuations. Most importantly, they are virtually unable to cause a fire or explosion even in the worst-case scenario of mechanical damage, overcharging, or internal short circuit (which no BMS can help with). CLOCS Partner Update: TRL Motorcade to monitor fleet power sources The Government is funding several programmes to develop new vehicle technologies and fuel/energy supply chains. To provide independent monitoring and evaluation of these trials TRL has developed a tool – Motorcade - to systematically collect data from vehicle fleets which will reveal the performance of these technologies and their energy consumption. The data collected will support evidence-based policy decision-making and commercial strategic planning regarding the deployment of fleets employing new fuel types.
