The new format will put an emphasis on grab-and-go meals, snacks, essential ingredients, fresh produce, meat, and seafood. Campbell's Soup Company is embracing a direct store and integrated projected delivery model to "unlock the full potential" of it's iconic snack brands including Goldfish, Lance, and Late July, at a time when some consumers enthusiasm for snacking might be slowing. This is interesting. As a grocery and food retail geek, I love both of these concepts -- at least conceptually. I think there is a big opportunity to improve the quality/taste component for Foxtrot prepared meals (currently, most are sort of "meh" -- lost between foodie and vegan -- IMHO) and the quick delivery aspect that Foxtrot brings to Dom's broader range of everyday (sorta) products should be a boost. Or, heaven forbid, is it the merging of two concepts that aren't doing so very well IRL (like: profitability)? Wegmans, Costco, Whole Foods, Aldi, your neighborhood bodega. Different SKUs. Different prices. Different "feels." The right fit for some customers, the wrong fit for others. Neither good nor bad. This variety is easy to conceptualize for grocery stores. Most industries have their own parallel. Wealth management is no different. There are countless services, fee structures, levels of expertise, levels of service, etc. Some people want Wegmans, some want Costco, while others grow a garden and milk their own cows! The right fit for some clients. The wrong fit for others. Neither good nor bad.
