We are back in the Jabra booth and today I am joined by John Stearns from Zoom. John, what's your role in Zoom? Thank you. Yeah, so I'm John Stearns. I lead our Zoom Rooms and Zoom Spaces business globally. And we're going to talk a little bit about Zoom Rooms and how we've sort of expanded to spaces, but responsibility on bringing our solutions to market that are helping organizations with their hybrid flexible work models. Super excited about some of the innovations we're going to talk about here today. Thanks for having me. I'm glad you came. Yeah, we got a lot of cool things bubbling up in the job land when it comes to Zoom. One of the recent features we just released for Zoom on Zoom platform here is BYOD. A lot of customers ask for that and we love the way that Zoom implements BYOD on the touch controller. So aside from that, we've got another update coming. What we're looking at behind us is actually a future release coming very soon that enables Smart Gallery for Zoom. You can see that in action on here. We're looking back at our office in Cupertino right now, but Smart Gallery is a really big deal for people that are using Zoom, Zoom Rooms back to their offices. What makes it so special? Where is the real value with Zoom Rooms and Smart Galleries? Yeah, absolutely. Great question here. This has been one of our sort of hero features that we've brought in. Really where it came from is this need and demand from customers to have more equitable hybrid meetings, right? So just having people joined in from their laptop from home where they get their own video tile, that's great. As people sort of return to offices and go into conference rooms, now, you know, that same video stream where you're seeing someone's face from their laptop, you're seeing a room full of people. So that's a challenge, right? We want to up level the experience. So everyone, whether they're in a room or working from home is on that level playing field and they're showcased, you know, the same. So when we look at Smart Gallery here, this is a single Zoom Room sending all of these video streams. So what's nice about that is we see that sort of the whole room view up top on the left, right? So you get the context of who's in the room there. But what we do in leveraging the AI that's built into the Jabra hardware is we actually frame the individual faces of all of the people that are in the room and then send additional video streams that get really up close and personal with them. So when I'm on the far end, I'm looking at this and I can see the whole office, cast in this case. But you know, this is really important again, to be able to see and hear everyone equally as is yeah, you know is it really the the heart of what we're doing with with Smart Gallery. Five other other streams in addition to the room stream. Again, this is coming soon to the PanaCast 50 VBS, which is what we're running here with Zoom Rooms. So something to look forward to. But I want to touch on something else that you called out when you were just talking now about AI. AI is front and Center for us as we are developing both the PanaCast 50 and the Android version of the VBS here. We're doing a lot there looking to the future about making sure that collaborative environments are more intelligent. Yeah. What's Zoom's vision there? Where is Zoom taking AI in their Zoom Rooms? Yeah, no that's great. So AI, you can't hit the bingo board if you don't, as soon as you touch on AI, you can't go anywhere without hitting on that in 2024 for valid reasons. Super compelling. Our hardware partners are building it into the devices so the AI at the edge is super important for all of the intelligence that are in the cameras. What Zooms take on AI? It's really quite simple there. We consider it table stakes at this point and it's going to be embedded into all of our products, you know including Zoom Rooms across the portfolio and included for every paid license. So we don't look at it as an up charge or a premium that maybe some users get. We see it as empowering entire organization. So commercially that's really where we see it and building it into our all of our products. In the cases of rooms, I think where it's most exciting for AI is allowing people to bring their sort of the personalization into a shared space, right? So we already, you know, talked about framing individual faces so you can see people clearly. But as we look up there, when you actually see the participant names in that scenario, it's saying Cupertino as the room name and then some additional video streams. How cool would it be if we could populate the name tag underneath their face so you could see people clearly and you can recognize who they are. That'll be an opt in on the organization on the admin side. Right. And if the users, you know, comfortable with it, they could opt in for the, what we're calling smart name tags. So when they do join from a room, recognizes who they are and properly shows that in the meeting. Doing something very similar, Smart Speaker tags where you could actually do a voice recording, upload that so then your voice is recognized when you're in a room. Again, the whole point there is bringing your personalization, not just for a better in meeting experience, but for those post meeting assets. AI summaries, transcriptions. We want to know who said what, not just that the Cupertino boardroom said here's our quarterly, you know, action items. We want to use a lot there. Yeah, you wanna you wanna know who in the boardroom said that? So I think that's the biggest thing for AI is really bringing that personalization into the shared meeting. That's a big take away. Sounds like a bright and intelligent future for Zoom Rooms. Looking forward to continuing the partnership in that direction. And of course, you know, get some more devices out there and get customers testing and deploying. So yeah, well said. Definitely.
