Last week at Forcelandia, the worlds best Salesforce Developer conference, I was able to give a talk titled "Fantastic (design) Patterns and Where to Use them."
In it I enumerated 4 design patterns that I believe should be way more common in the Salesforce Ecosystem.
If you say design patterns in the Salesforce sphere, most people will ... immediately jump to FFlib and well, these aren't that.
I want to make it clear that I have great respect for the authors of FFlib. I consider Andy F, and Chris P are legendary and FFLib is some amazing engineering. I just think many of it's killer features have been superseded by platform features. And so I've built up a bit of a reputation for being a fflib hater. I'm not one, not really. But for this talk i kinda leaned into the idea. I even uhm... created a epic-rap-battle diss track. Now I've never been a singer, or a songwriter, but I know a few good AI's and was able to string together their APIs to produce this.
Please remember the diss track is only good fun.
