The door has opened to the Symbiocene and we are leaving behind the Anthropocene. Did you miss the Symbiocene Summit at London Climate Action Week? Don't worry, we have a recap video for you! Last week, my Co-Founder Kalpana Arias from Nowadays On Earth and QueerBrownVegan produced our first-ever summit and it was a huge hit with the London community. Our idea from last year hosting evening mixers blossomed into a larger project to expand the overreaching power we have to create dialogues that move beyond the normal discussions around environmentalism and bring together our separate interests to connect with each other. A lot of people talk about intergenerational collaborations, but the Symbiocene isn't about speaking on it but rather embodying it through our actions and beyond the panel stage. Our presenting partners, Stephanie Dillon& Citizen-T, have continuously believed in our mission. We also had supporting partners like Ecosia & Icarus Complex Magazine. This was the most unique activation during climate week that brought together artists, activists, and storytellers through different realms of geopolitical spheres from social, racial, and environmental movements, we brought people together to teach the importance of being friends. With over 30+ programs, 50+ speakers, and 3+ musical performances alongside booths that carried resources and moments of interactive tours, the Symbiocene team produced this summit within less than 6 months. But now, I need your help. We are on the search to expand our advisory board and to find further brand partners, organizations, and institutions that want to bring the Symbiocene to their country. 🌍🌿 The "Climate Catalyst" collective takes off at Saint-Gobain! 🌿🌍 Ending this year with a seminar bringing together such a committed Collective at Saint-Gobain was an incredible experience! This event was much more than just a meeting: 🌟 An European gathering: nearly 40 committed employees from several European countries: UK, Italy, Hungary, Germany and France, in anticipation of a wider roll-out in Europe and internationally!   ⚡ Positive energy and employee commitment: The driving force behind our progress towards a sustainable future, a diversity of profiles and backgrounds that enriches us and enables us to challenge status quos! 🎉 A moment of celebration: pride in having achieved the Climate Fresk for already more than 33,000 Saint-Gobain Group employees, with an exceptional community of 1,300 internal animators. Congratulations to all the teams, and a big thoughts for all the teams I had the chance to met !   💡 Discussion and action proposals: An approach via an open forum stimulating reflection on various topics enabling milestones to be set for actions in 2024. 🤝 Creating links, networking and a thriving community: Weaving strong ties to build a solid future for this collective. 🏞️ A committed, eco-responsible seminar, reflecting our values: The embodiment of our shared commitment reflected in this low-carbon event (vegan/vegetarian meals, an alternative and inclusive venue, in a sober, low-tech setting) : a proof that when you want to have a low carbon event, you can! Had a fantastic day at the Bloomberg Green Festival in Seattle with my friend Megan Buchner (thanks again for joining!). The event was incredibly well-organized, bringing together a diverse group – non-profits, government officials, innovators, and major corporations – all focused on finding climate solutions. Here are some key takeaways that inspired me: **A wealth of existing solutions**: The festival showcased exciting advancements like hydrogen-fueled airplanes (presented by Val Miftakhov, CEO of ZeroAvia) and AI-powered recycling robots (presented by Rebecca Hu, Founder of Glacier). These, alongside discussions on satellite methane detection and bipartisan US clean energy solutions, offered a glimpse into a future with practical approaches to sustainability. **Positive and action-oriented energy**: Despite the challenges, the overall vibe at the festival was one of hope and action. It's clear there's a lot of work to be done, but the collective commitment to progress was truly motivating. **Inspiring film recommendation**: Bad River: A Story of Defiance was mentioned during a talk and looks inspiring. **A few highlights that resonated with me:** -Sally Jewell's pragmatic approach to finding common ground between economic success and sustainability. -Governor Inslee's remarks, particularly his powerful quote: "It’s a moral issue not just an economic one… We are responsible for the future of our children and grandchildren.” Feeling grateful for this experience and excited to take action! Anyone who cares about future generations will be keen on environmental impact and the 3 pillars of sustainability :- what do we mean? Sustainability is the ability to exist and develop without depleting natural resources for the future. The United Nations defined sustainable development in the Brundtland Report as development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs Why is Sustainability Important? There are many benefits to sustainability, both short-term and long-term. We cannot maintain our Earth’s ecosystems or continue to function as we do if more sustainable choices are not made. If harmful processes are maintained with no change, it is likely that we will run out of fossil fuels, huge numbers of animal species will become extinct, and the atmosphere will be irreparably damaged. Clean air and nontoxic atmospheric conditions, growth of resources that can be relied upon, and water quality and cleanliness, are all benefits of sustainability, hence better healthcare & quality of life for everyone and AGENEF Integrative medicine center is in forefront to champion sustainable social enterprise and we proud to be associated with@Roxbourg Institute of Social Enterprise .

Thanks for the insightful session on 'Empowering People to Engage in More Sustainable Actions'. The insights from the recent GlobeScan study on how people's perceptions and actions are evolving in response to important issues such as inequality, community, human rights, climate, consumption and the circular economy were incredibly interesting. In addition to the important statistics, I took away three things from the event: 1. "How important it is for companies to communicate both their successes and their challenges transparently to prevent #misinformation and #greenwashing". 2. "The urgency to move from protracted discussion to immediate action". This view reflects the need to reverse a famous adage: 'If I had one hour to solve a problem, I would spend 59 minutes defining the problem and one minute solving it. It’s time to focus more on actionable solutions than problem definitions. 3. IKEA's commitment to plant-based options is commendable. Expanding the range to include plant-based versions of iconic products such as hot dogs and aiming for 50% of canteen food and 80% of retail food to be affordable plant-based by 2025 is a fantastic move. It's proof of how international sourcing policies can effectively support sustainable practises even in franchise business models and shows the role companies can play in driving meaningful change. Today's session was a call to action for all of us in the industry to think innovatively and act decisively for a sustainable future. Lever Foundation
