One of the best things leaders can do is to “go and see.” Talking directly with our team members who are on the ground, solving problems in real time can bring terrific insights. It’s helpful to get out of your office and learn together in person about the obstacles and opportunities our teams are working on. Recently, more than 50 Ford and UAW leaders and employees went on a bus tour visiting several Ford plants to see first-hand how teamwork can drive excellence in our plant quality and operations. Their visits at Lima Engine, Kentucky Truck, Louisville Assembly, and Sharonville Transmission Plants helped reinforce just how critical purposeful collaboration is across departments to our everyday success.
