🤔 To #consult or not to consult - that is the question. If you know me, you know I’m a very active user of LinkedIn as well as an active member of three #revops Slack communities. And I’m always keeping an eye on current trends so I can continually gather market research on the state of hiring and the direction of #saas. One big #trend I’ve noticed is the shift away from #fulltime permanent employment and into #fractional roles. At least 50% of the people I speak to are either busy #consulting or thinking about getting into #contract work because of how difficult it’s been to generate #interviews or even land a role (and I feel that pain too). I have been tracking my own year’s worth of applications, interviews, take home assessments, and types of companies. And there aren’t any #metrics or trends that can help give me a leg up (trust me, I have the pivots as proof). Yes - #networking is absolutely key in getting your foot in the door. But the market is absolutely flooded with #applicants, and hiring managers get to be as picky as they want in choosing whom to hire. So what choice do we have than to take back control and get into fractional work? This is the feedback I’ve been hearing: ✔️You get to choose the project ✔️You can charge what you want ✔️You get to choose who you work with ✔️You have control over your own time ✔️Experience gained is *triple* than being at one company (‼️) With commentary like that, why wouldn’t you go in that direction? #saas #revenueoperations #opentowork
