I am thrilled to share the incredible journey of Team Lannister Lions(Nikhil Bansal, Vineet Tiwari , Jaydip Dey 🌟 ) as we proudly secured the 2nd prize in the Intel oneAPI GenAI LLM Challenge 2023! 🎉 Out of over 1000 registrations, our team's dedication and hard work have been recognized, earning us the prestigious accolade and a cash prize of 1 lakh. 🙌 A huge thank you to the organizers, Intel Software, Hack2skill and Kavita Aroor for orchestrating an exceptional competition that brought together some of the brightest minds in the field of artificial intelligence. Hello Connections! I am thrilled to announce the completion of my Intel Unnati Industrial Training Project! 🙌 Team Code Crusaders consisting of myself, Dhriti Shah and Priyansh Shajan, tackled the challenge of optimizing and deploying GenAI models using the OpenVino toolkit and Hugging Face Optimum CLI. Here's what we achieved: Optimization: Implemented quantization and fine-tuning of distilGPT-2 model. Deployment: Used Gradio to create an interactive frontend and deployed the model on Hugging Face Spaces. Application: Developed a fitness chatbot by fine-tuning distilGPT-2 on a fitness dataset and performed inference using OpenVino. Special thanks to my professors, Dr. Darshak Thakore sir and Dr. Narendra Patel sir, for this incredible opportunity. Today's hype on Nvidia, reminds me about how the Gen X and early-Gen Y clicked with every generation and iteration of Intel Pentium release - when faster floating point calculation was a big deal. And today's #LLM #GenAI news, reminds me about high level programming languages 30 years ago. Eventually, IT graduates do not have any idea about the compiler design studied by computer science graduates - and it probably does not matter anymore. LLM lowers (very very very much) the barrier of entry into AI (you don't hear much about TensorFlow anymore, right? 😉 ), and soon, what matters more in the consumer AI space, would be the inference chips and LLM-based applications. CentOS Linux lasted a good run, before it was discontinued, in the face of commercialisation. Today when evolution is pacing at a more rapid speed, I wonder how long will open source foundation models last, without the element of revenue stream attached.
