This video shared by @tizzyent and produced by The Lincoln Project forecasts our future in grim and accurate detail if he and his loyalists win in Nov. Maga Cult: Understand this! United States is BOTH a REPUBLIC AND A DEMOCRACY due to its structure and functioning: 1. **Republic**: The U.S. is a republic because it has a system of representative government. Citizens elect officials to represent their interests and make decisions on their behalf. This system is established by the Constitution, ensuring that power IS NOT concentrated in a SINGLE RULER or group but distributed across elected representatives and various branches of government. 2. **Democracy**: The U.S. is also a democracy because it operates on the principle of majority rule while protecting minority rights. Citizens participate in free and fair elections to choose their leaders, influence laws, and hold their representatives accountable. This democratic process ensures that the government reflects the will of the people while maintaining checks and balances. In summary, the U.S. combines elements of both a republic and a democracy, creating a system where elected representatives govern according to the rule of law and the people's will. IGNORANCE IS BLISS 😊

"I can excuse a genocide but I draw the line at shooting a fascist". Sherif, I wanted to post the same image but slapped myself on the wrist. But hey f it, I'm making do right now & demoralizing the willfully ignorant corpcucks while finding friends is a source of joy. The Ottoman Empire had been a superpower for a few centuries, only to be called "The Sick Man Of Europe" by the mid-19th century. 200+ years of relative dominance was a respectable run. Its collapse still ripples through the Middle East, killing thousands with guns, poverty, disease every single day for over 100 years - through colonial carve-ups (why do some places have straight lines as borders?), internal power struggles, sectarian & ethnic conflict, etc. America is a dying empire that has participated and continues to participate in atrocities, war crimes, crimes against humanity, state terrorism. These were not products of inevitable historical choices, that was man-made. These decisions were made with the awareness of the opposing point of view. US ruling classes had been willing to commit unspeakable cruelty against Native Americans and Africans specifically, with lesser portions of evil doled out to other groups & to poor people in general. American wealth is a product of European and Asian bloodbaths during WW1 and WW2. European capital & people picked up and left across the pond, flooding the United States. The country had been insulated by the Atlantic & Pacific Oceans. What a wonderful way to make money that was - sell them guns, receive refugee capital & brains. This becomes addicting. The simplest analogy I can conjure is a rich, spoiled child with weapons chasing sugar highs, that has never had to face the blowback for his actions. As this was it's path to wealth, the US has no moral right to dictate what's wrong and what's right in this world. The attempt on Trump's life is a reminder: the insulation is eroding day by day. Trump supporters seem to think they are on the winning side simply because the DNC is so obviously inept. Fools, they are winning nothing & don't have the historical awareness to grasp it. Everyone else should start thinking about getting another passport, digging through family history for other roots. Personally, I'm gunning for a Dutch residency now. Over and out.

On Tuesday, November 5th, 2024, America will choose its...old president! Don't get me wrong, there's really no risk of #ageism here, as we are long past this conversation, in both cases, aren't we? Moreover, "old" just happens to have more important (in this case), figurative meanings: 1. So YES, they are both TOO OLD FOR THE JOB (an incredibly demanding one!), in a biological/cognitive sense 2. For both of them it will be a potential second term (old = familiar/predictable) 3. More broadly, we already know both of them pretty well, don't we? (old = we've seen enough to have an idea of both #candidates' personal credibility, integrity, reputation, truthfulness, job-specific skills and competences, experience, qualifications, charisma, intellectual potential, diplomacy, communication skills, etc.) So what's the real challenge here? After all, to say millions are (and have always been) unimpressed, at best, by either of them (in America and around the world) would probably be a rather obvious, factual statement. So in that sense, it will be yet another #lesserevil choice for many, will it not (regardless of which "evil" is a lot "lesser" than the other, in your opinion)? How new would that be? Many of you probably don't even remember a single #election in your own, respective country when you last voted in any other way. So is there anything really special about these elections, then? Yes, there is! In the past, just one or two of the accusations, allegations and convictions(!) mentioned in the satirical TikTok video below would be more than enough to turn securing a #presidency (ever again!) into a real-life Mission Impossible! But not in today's America! In today's America, you can be all of the things listed in all of the court documents and gossip columns, across the country, and still lead in the polls! As if this wasn't ironic enough (or emblematic of the nation's intellectual/ethical calibre), Donald Trump knows just enough about today's America to have shrewdly adopted what I would call a "Martyrdom & Denial" strategy in his #politicalmarketing and #campaign #storytelling game. Doesn't get much more ironic than that, does it? Let's give it a try, nevertheless. In the end, it is not conventional wars that are making this increasingly fragile world of ours a truly dangerous and unsustainable place, but the fact that we keep lowering our #leadership #integrity #criticalthinking #education standards and expectations (= red-line definitions). And we're doing so at a pace comparable only, perhaps, to the progress we have recently been making in Artificial Intelligence. All that, at the time when our collective social and ethical #intelligence seems to be the most important victim of...progress, consumerism, mass/web/social media...you name it! https://lnkd.in/dAud-dei https://lnkd.in/dur9e6DU https://lnkd.in/dET2qNH3

I'm sad to say that I've become so fascinated by this new trend in American #politics that I'm seeing where #liberals and #conservatives seem to be in the middle of realigning and redefining themselves (and maybe fracturing into more diverse groups). I never would have predicted this kind of outcome from debates on current #protest movements in the US. Here's another example. https://lnkd.in/gFRrKiv7 I feel like there is a new version of centrism developing in American politics. As an outsider, it's all so complicated and confusing. Things used to be so simple. I can't tell anymore who would vote for who in the upcoming US presidential election. Maybe that's a good thing. Maybe that means people will be less #partisan. Of course, I doubt it, but in the movement that if you don't vote for Biden and say "don't blame us if Trump gets elected", abstinence from voting for Biden is effectively a vote for Trump, given the way politics are so binary in the US. Maybe the outcome will just be mass ambivalence. Ah, I really long for the days when things were clear. Did those days ever exist, or were they just an illusion? :) I don't think becoming fascinated by this is good for me. I should try to stay away from this kind of content for a while. But it's EVERYWHERE... how do I avoid it unless I just completely unplug? It's hard to have a #digital #detox with the kind of stuff I'm trying to do these days....

Here's a major piece of PR advice for politicians. When you schedule an interview with the press, you better be prepared, especially about the most controversial issues in your domain. This is especially true if you are in the national spotlight. Anyone appearing on This Week with George Stephanopoulos should know that doubling and tripling down on a non-answer may only get the same question asked repeatedly. Creating stories (even very sympathetic ones) to evade the answer does not solve the problem. It's best to answer the question rather than stumble through assorted non-answers. #mediainterviews #publicrelations #elections2024 #abortion #maga https://lnkd.in/e8694FtB
