I’ve decided it’s time for a change, so after ten and a half years, yesterday was my last day at HubSpot. It was an amazing ride from a relatively small company with a single office in Cambridge through an IPO and onwards to offices spread around the globe. It was great to work on interesting technical problems with a high degree of autonomy alongside so many talented, committed and helpful people. Thank you all and all the best to you. Thanks to Elias Torres ⚡️ for recruiting me and especially for getting me to yes after I first declined the offer. I first met Elias in the summer of 2000 when we overlapped at IBM WebAhead in Connecticut and worked on sibling teams for a few years. We kept in loose touch over the years - one day I'm walking through the mall in Cambridge after buying a mother's day card and Elias emerges from California Pizza Kitchen, still chewing, and asks me to come check out what's going on at HubSpot. The rest, as they say, is history.
