Austin Kleon said it best: "Creatives need time to sit around and do nothing." Why? Because creativity doesn't happen on demand. It needs room to breathe. So cancel that meeting. It's not just about an early weekend. It's about giving your team space to think. So when that meeting disappears? It's not just free time. It's an opportunity for deep work. Because your best ideas? They rarely come when you're staring at a calendar full of blocks. Give your team time to reset. To ponder. To create. That's how you get scroll-stopping work. It starts with your calendar. 👋 P.S. Be a hero. Cancel that 4 pm meeting today. Your creatives will thank you.

I became a better creative when I stopped feeling guilty about taking walks or working out. That's when the good stuff comes. It's also absurd to think that creativity works a 40-hour work week of producing non-stop. The actually creative work is like an iceberg, way more you don't see

I call it the lost art of pondering. Everyone is so distracted by their phones that they don’t take time to stare out a window, or take a leisurely stroll to just .. ponder. Pondering was an activity nearly a century ago.

Agreed but this applies to most functions outside of creative as well!
