Debated whether to share this when Linkedin is all about putting out the vibe that you know what you're doing 10000% of the time, but I feel like I'm at a real crossroads with Babes On Waves- being a solo founder is really tough when it comes to strategising and working out future steps. Is there anyone who would be up for a 30 minute brainstorm / chat who specialises or has had personal experience in pivoting their business, realigning life/career/business goals? Basically: working out what you *actually* want and what direction to go from the million directions you *could* go.

The tea is that I really *dislike* negotiating partnerships. And now I don't have to! Over the years its become a big part of what I do at Babes On Waves, and although I love the creative ideation and execution, the back and forth, going for coffees that lead nowhere, the dance to get people to just say how much budget they have- it's not for me! Despite this, I've had a great run and with no experience I managed to bring in 5 figure + partnerships and work with some of the world's top brands. But now I'm so glad to say I've been signed with Ryan Cooper Henniker and the team at Intent* and able to hand over the reigns to someone much more experienced than myself! Although I only worked up the courage to post about it on Linkedin this week, it's been exactly 2 months since launching Busy Babes, a project by Babes On Waves exploring how to balance Health & Hustle. The response has been insane! In 60 days we've: 🔥 Got 150 women of colour cold plunging (many for the first time, most coming back) 🧊 Sold out every single event 🤝 Created an ongoing partnership with Rooftop Saunas to host our sessions, who have been so supportive to our community 📱Grew to a community of 500 on socials, just by sharing events and pictures, not through any active social media strategy plan 🏊 Connected with Nike, who kitted me out for these session - stay tuned! What I've learnt: 1. Not only is there a huge huge need for career driven people to switch off (duh), but in finding ways to do this that ultimately help them connect back with their work 2. WOC are being underrepresented in ice baths/cold plunging communities. I'm always the only WOC when I go to these spaces, and it's not that they're not interested in it, as Busy Babes easily gets 20-40 babes at each session, it's that it's not marketed as "for us" 3. Merging networking with wellbeing works! When you do it in a genuine, wholesome way. Next Up: Manifesting some Press, some paid Partnerships so we can focus on the mission, Hitting 500 WOC cold plunging in the next couple of months.

(Vulnerability incoming) At the start of the year I shared in depth about some things I've been going through, and how it's leading to huge changes at Babes on Waves. Alot of people could relate, and so I'm sharing here too incase it helps even just one person! TLDR: Business is hard. Burnout is scary. Let's think not just how we can build our careers, but build a life around our careers too.

Are there any WOC journalists, pr babes or content creators who want to join our Ice & Sauna Club? We have a super wholesome event coming up at Rooftop Saunas, as part of our monthly Ice Club at Babes On Waves. These sessions are about switching off and reseting your nervous system as a chronically busy person, as well as having genuine conversations with other career girlies. As the only POC cold plunge community in the UK, I'd love to get the word out and get more babes of colour showing up at these spaces! THE CHILLEST CLUB FOR THE COOLEST OF PEOPLE 🧊🌀🥶 We’ve been running some super chill Ice & Sauna meet-ups over the last couple of months, and Monday was the first of our Rooftop sessions over at Rooftop Saunas But why ice & sauna? Isn't Babes on Waves business club? Isn’t that random?? 4 years of BOW exploring how WOC can create the career, business and work life of our dreams left us seeing how many babes were burnt out from hustling (including us). This year what we’re really interested in is how to build a life AROUND your career that doesn’t neglect wellbeing. The idea of Busy Babes and our monthly Ice meet-ups are that it’s a space to release stress, activate flow state and meet other ambitious babes in an environment that isn’t just drinking, networking, and industry events Thanks to all our babes for coming down- our next session is Monday 15th July, something tells me the Linkedin crew definitely needs some chillaxation in their lives haha. I'm not judgemental but I am a judge ✨ Beyond that terrible joke, I'm buzzing to share that this year I'm a judge for the Lovie Awards, recognising European Internet excellence in culture, technology and business! I'll be having a look at amazing projects alongside the most inspirational of babes like Eshita Kabra, Ibrahim Kamara, Jade Coles, Albert Hill and more. Excited to get stuck in this week!

Lilato Madiri has just celebrate one year with Babes on Waves- I'm so grateful to have her as part of the team!! Having people I can rely on has been one of the key things to help me on the road to recovery out of Burnout. 🥂 Here's to another year!!

Our members need your help! Does anyone have a cute office/meeting/coworking space in London and would be up for donating space a day a month for some of our WOC founders and creatives to cowork together? Coworking is always the number 1 thing our members ask for- lots of our members don't have suitable workspaces at home, or have kids/live with families and need access to resources like these to build their amazing projects. But we've found it really challenging to organise over the years. Cafes are a bit too chaotic, and Cowork spaces charge us per person which we can't afford if we're trying to keep our Babes On Waves membership affordable. Another classic struggle in the life of running a social enterprise 😅  Would really appreciate any leads or help!
