People look at me funny when I carry a large camera. Filming real and authentic circumstances can be nerve racking. You can know all the technical aspects, but we don’t usually talk about the human interaction that’s needed to get the right shots. Be ready to dance when they dance. Be ready to be patient while they wait. Be ready for plan B when plan A doesn’t work. Be ready to help with school work or pickup a crayon off the ground. Be ready to pickup trash in the hallways. Be ready to run relays and toss a ball. It’s not your job, but it could make or break a quality production. Maybe “looking funny” is exactly part of the script.
