I am excited to share some insights into what I have been working on in the past 3 weeks at Arbo: The DeLa Express Project is an ambitious endeavor that involves the construction of a 690-mile, 42-inch diameter natural gas mainline #pipeline to transport #naturalgas from the Permian Basin in West Texas to key markets near Lake Charles, Louisiana. The pipeline’s developers expect it to go into service in July 2028, but given the limited number of directly comparable past projects, it is hard to predict a definitive timeline. However, Arbo created a Monte Carlo simulation modeling historical data to capture the central tendency estimate of timelines. The model predicts the duration of individual project phases from a purely statistical approach (which may not always accurately predict rare or extreme scenarios). #DeLa ’s anticipated milestones fall well within the simulated range of outcomes, leaning a bit more conservative than what was simulated from historical timelines of like projects. But given recent experience with #FERC-regulated projects, encountering a surplus of unexpected difficulties during the regulatory proceeding has almost become expected.
