Hi there! It seems we are far overdue an update on Haustoria, so here we are to give a bit of insight into what has been going on during our production. 1. Every member of Team Blight finished and submitted their dissertations! This was a huge task for us, taking away a lot of the time we wish we could have spent working on Haustoria. However, we definitely learned a lot about the topics we chose, as well as time management. With them all submitted, we have returned to focusing on production of Haustoria and expect there to be more frequent updates on production. 2. We got a new logo! Designed by the brilliant Molly McCoy, we're happier than ever with the design of our logo. We plan on getting some memorabilia with our logo, to immortalize the time we spent working on the game. 3. We completed the alpha stage of our game! That means we have all our key game mechanics and layouts completely white-boxed, giving us a good start on getting the game ready to playtest. We submitted our alpha build to our college project supervisor, and gained some valuable feedback on it. 4. With a game as ambitious and intricate as ours, it is hard to allot time to gain footage we want to show off. We want to present the best of our work, and showing off large forests made up of the same tree asset is not something we want our audience to see. However, with the submission of the alpha, it feels to the team like the pieces of puzzle are beginning to finally fit together. Erin has been hard at work designing music and fun combats for the player to experience based on the feedback we gained from our playtests. Katri has been working on laying out areas of the game, focusing on the pacing of the story and how we want the player to experience our story. James has created a huge amount of environmental assets that have started to make our game look better than ever. Sean has been working on our inventory system and dialogue scripting. This work has been hard, but extremely rewarding. Altogether, we are getting closer to putting together our first trailer and launching our steam page. We've got quite a bit of work to do but are extremely happy with what we've done so far. We hope you enjoyed reading this update, and look forward to more frequent updates now!
