It was a true honor on Wednesday to deliver the Commencement Address at the University of Maryland College of Information Studies in my great home state!
Very inspired by the many PhD, masters, and undergraduates continuing on their journeys to help unlock the benefits of information and new technologies while safeguarding society against the harms and risks.

"Students with a .edu email can avail of a free month of Perplexity Pro for the next two weeks! Campuses with more than 500 student signups will be upgraded to one year of free Perplexity Pro!"
Initial thoughts:
I like Perplexity for its interface design is grounded in research principles and search science. It would be beneficial for all students. To ensure this affordable benefit reaches everyone, it would be great to see the list representative and inclusive of students from all university backgrounds, including small, mid-tier, and community colleges. As of now, the leaderboard list is elite universities.
How might we ensure this list is representative and inclusive of students from all university backgrounds, including small, mid-tier, and community colleges?

How might we democratize early access to emerging technology that mines knowledge, empowering analytical thinkers, researchers, writers, and creatives from all backgrounds?
