Investments in the future: Not only are our products becoming more environmentally friendly through increased recyclability, but also the environment in which they are manufactured! Thanks to a new ventilation system in our Plant 2 in Lengerich, the entire production is supplied with well-tempered fresh air around the clock. With replacement of the ventilation, 100% fresh air operation applies at all times. However, the heated air is not discharged unused into the environment. In the winter, the exhaust air is passed through heat exchangers. The energy of the exhaust air is then used to heat the supply air. As a result, we expect to save around 360 tons of CO2 per year. This is another step towards increasing energy efficiency, reducing emissions and optimizing the carbon footprint of our company and our products. #sustainablity #sustainablepackaging #climateneutrality

With an industry push towards 100% electrical heating and cooling systems, our engineers often see and test refrigerant-based systems. The discovery of new refrigerant chemicals is important in ensuring a sustainable planet. Older refrigerants were highly pollutant and were a significant factor in the global call to eliminate the use of Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) in 1987, though at the time, less polluting refrigerants had not been discovered, or they were less effective than their CFC counterparts. New refrigerants are developed every year in an effort to make highly efficient and cost-effective cooling systems while reducing the impact of chemical pollutants on the environment. #commissioning #buildingcommissioning #heatingandcooling #sustainableplanet

Here's some tips from Tony Withers on how to reduce water consumption, saving both water and power: Using lids on water baths can reduce evaporation, preserve water, and reduce heat loss therefore less energy is required to heat. Polypropylene spheres can be used in conjunction with, or as an alternative to a lid to minimise evaporation and heat loss. The use of heat transfer beads can be used in most Grant unstirred water baths. Reduces the need for water but temperature uniformity is not as good as water. Move to sustainable solutions such as the Ecocool refrigerated water bath which also uses natural refrigerants. O3 technology was installed along with the Wet Scrubber System (WSS) catalyzing the oxidation of O3 and pollutant gases. In addition, a chiller was added to control and stabilize the temperature of the water. After the water temperature was controlled, the concentration of O3 increased resulting in an efficient pollution treatment system. Levels of pollutant gas emission were found to be beneath control standards of both Thailand and those of the U.S. EPA. AIM Act Update Environmentally Friendly Refrigerant The future of HVAC includes a progressive trend toward coolant alternatives that are less harmful to the environment. The EPA phase-down of global-warming-potential high hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) coolants is in full swing. The EPA's goal is to reduce HFC production and consumption by 85% by 2036. Beyond using lower-HFC coolants, there is a movement toward alternatives like hydrofluoroolefins (HFOs), and natural refrigerants like CO2 and ammonia are experiencing a renaissance.
