In an era defined by remote work, where physical office spaces have transformed into our homes, it's essential to remind ourselves of the significance of human connections. 💼💻 Working remotely has its undeniable perks - flexibility and reduced commute time, However, it can also create a sense of isolation and disconnect from our colleagues. 🤝 💡 Here are a few reasons why making an effort to meet your colleagues, even in a virtual setting, is essential: 1️⃣ Fostering Team Cohesion: Regular video meetings allow us to see and hear our colleagues, fostering a sense of belonging and teamwork that's hard to replicate through emails and messages. 🚀 2️⃣ Building Trust: Meeting face-to-face (even virtually) humanises interactions and builds trust. When you can see someone's expressions and body language, it becomes easier to understand their perspective and intentions. 👀🤝 3️⃣ Enhancing Communication: Effective communication is the cornerstone of successful teamwork. Meeting colleagues can help eliminate misunderstandings, clarify expectations, and facilitate smoother collaboration. 🗣️✉️ 4️⃣ Mental Well-being: Human beings are inherently social creatures. Regular virtual meet-ups combat feelings of isolation, promote a sense of community, and contribute to better mental well-being. 💪❤️ Let's cherish these moments of connection and continue to thrive in our remote work environments. Together, we can build strong, resilient teams that redefine the future of work. 🌐💼🤗 #RemoteWork #VirtualConnections #Teamwork #FutureOfWork #ProfessionalDevelopment #StayConnected

To make the Energy Transition a reality, you need pioneers... and it's even better when they work together...
“No matter who you are, everybody puts their clothes on one leg at a time” … talking all things leadership with Team New Zealand CEO Grant Dalton America's Cup Barcelona, was a real pleasure. Not only was Grant clearly passionate (and has the success to prove it!) but he was also a really down-to-earth and engaging person. Another reason why at Air Products, we’re really proud to be the official hydrogen supplier of the #37thAmericasCup! Thanks for making it happen Marta Rodriguez Giró Carmen Esquius 😀

This morning, in our discussion on Leading with Emotional Intelligence, our Women's Leadership Initiative at UD certificate participants watched this video as an example of emotional contagion. We talked about the ways that emotions at work can be contagious, and that good leaders will want to turn negativity around and create the conditions and opportunities for positivity and job satisfaction. Please watch!

- In an ideal world, the PGA Tour should be 20-22 tournaments from January to August. I know that’s not every week. Then have some tournaments go to the Korn Ferry Tour just throwing random names – (Cognizant), a Valero, a Dominican, those are Korn Ferry majors, you win one of those and you get promoted (in-season). It’s just an idea of having it where two signature events in a row, week off, three on, whatever it needs to be to where the top guys don’t have to play every week; they are still playing together but it’s 120 (man fields). If you get your card through Korn Ferry, it’s top 20 or top 25, you’re in those. We all think that’s the ideal situation, whether or not it’ll get there, who knows, it’s nowhere close.” - Read "Reduced fields? Relegation? In-season promotion? Korn Ferry Tour ‘majors’? Everything on the table in PGA Tour overhaul" on SmartNews: https://lnkd.in/eg7Qapnm

I've recently been thinking about the strategic planning our organization does vs. the actual results we deliver. I came across this interview with one of the best high performers that has to leverage team dynamics to deliver results in a high-pressure environment. I came away with some key learnings that help drive high performance in a team environment: 1.) Reflection is important. Looking back at what you learn from success and failure helps shape your actions in the future. 2.) Preparation is everything. How you get ready for your week, day, or important meeting helps reduce stress and let things unfold in the moment like you are on auto-pilot. 3.) High performing teams need 3 things: Discipline (a consistent framework in which to operate), Integrity, and Confidence (belief in the work you are doing). Here's the link to the full interview if you are interested: https://lnkd.in/gkugw2n4 Going into Q4, I've been considering how I am executing as a leader on these practices and how these components are represented in the team I lead and the outcomes we achieve. I asked leaders in my organization to consider the same key learnings in their practice. Are you using these practices to drive performance and deliver outcomes in your organization?

In order to be a successful captain, one must be willing to put the team's goals and direction before themselves. The best captains lead by example and by the use of their voice; they work hard when nobody is watching. They make choices that put the team first without having to be asked.
