A great blog piece by our Managing Director and Founder Robert Stead. When I say it is the best company I’ve ever worked for, it not only comes down to the team and the management, but it also relies heavily on the fact that the “product” is just SO good. I recently hit a huge landmark as a business owner, It’s officially been 17 years since I founded SIGA Vision alongside Gary Loosely. And I can say the punt I took in 2007 to launch my own business, Has most definitely been worth it in the long run. As well as getting to travel across the globe with work, I’ve also been able to make time for my #1 passion outside the office, Racing 🏎️ (Yep, that’s me on the track in the photo!) Before I founded SIGA I was working for a global machine vision company. I loved my job but I kept seeing the same problem. I was constantly being asked to improve and solve poorly installed vision systems from automation companies. There was so much frustration from engineers. After all, no one wants to have to constantly call out vision specialists to get their systems fit for purpose. Essentially this is where I saw the gap in the market: ➡️ I knew engineers wanted systems that are tailored to THEIR production line. ➡️ I knew engineers wanted a specialist who could educate them on the intricacies of different vision systems. ➡️ I knew that both end users and machine builders would benefit from using a system integrator during installation. Hence, the idea for SIGA Vision was born. And I’ve helped so many businesses optimise and integrate their machine vision systems since then.
