Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇲 The US has been a wonderful home for me and my family, and I'm truly grateful for it and proud of it. My parents immigrated here in the 1970's (if you ever meet my Dad and Mom, they have some great stories: my Dad arriving at JFK airport with $20 in his pocket and directions to the Bronx (and that's it); his first meal that day in his new country: New York pizza (and his love for it to this day)). The USA has allowed me to pursue my dreams, take risks, start companies that try to make life a little easier for people here (and around the world). America isn't perfect, I know that -- but it always, always amazes me what we in this country can do when we let our better angels drive the bus. And I'm grateful that this country is pretty dang beautiful too! My friends, family and I are up in the Lake Tahoe area, and we took today to climb one of the big peaks on the lake (Mt Tallac for those in the know). Gorgeous! (Hat tip to Maria (Rioumine) Davidson -- I saw your 4th of July post and you inspired me!)
So true Jeevan. I have a bit of a reverse story. Born here, raised in India then came back here on a one way ticket as a 21 year old. I remember my Dad's advise to me: Hardwork, Honesty and Humility will be pillars of success. It's a great sense of self-fulfillment that I've been able to have my parents live with me the past 20+ years. Thanks for sharing the pics. Soon I may have some to share from the tallest peak in the lower 48 states
Excellent. This is America.
A nation of proud immigrants! In Mandarin “America” literally translates to “the beautiful country” - and not by coincidence 🇺🇸
I totally share your sentiments, Jeevan. As an immigrant myself I am very grateful and proud of this nation that has afforded me the opportunities to grow and prosper in so many ways... There's no place I'd rather call home. Happy 4th.
LOVE this story JEEVAN! I feel the same sense of generational gratitude...thanks for sharing!!! B.Love
Good on you Jeevan.
