It's official! I've crossed the 200 applications mark! And what better way to celebrate than by being called for another intreview request! Even though the day also came with rejection number 8 from The North Face, a VF Company (don't worry, I got 2 or 3 more still "under consideration" with them). I'll take the win. Keep on swimming. "Has anyone else struggled with feelings of not being ambitious enough? 🤔 I'll admit, I often find myself looking at the accomplishments of former classmates, colleagues, and others in my network and wondering if I'm just not driving hard enough toward bigger goals and achievements. It can be tough not to play the comparison game, especially on a platform like LinkedIn where we tend to highlight our wins. Scrolling through my feed, I sometimes feel like everyone else is rapidly climbing the career ladder, building wildly successful businesses, or checking off major life milestones while I'm over here feeling a bit...stalled. Sharing my thoughts and opinions on my most recent successful job search. Balance is key, action is important: I needed to get going and start applying, but my resume, networking, and portfolio needs constant refinement. That’s ok. I didn't waste a lot of time to make the obvious updates, reviewed my document, and applied with what I had. I got a few under my belt, then I started to see where my resume needed work and my portfolio could get a boost as I combed through the job descriptions. I used my network to ask for the mentorship I was seeking. I tried the things I got as actionable feedback. Comment back on how you got started on your road to the next “yes”. I hope this and the comments others leave helps at least one of you out there in finding your next UX/product design role in this highly competitive market. Hello network! I am actively searching for a new role! After nearly 2.5 years at Cox Communications, I am starting my next journey. I am so grateful for the Cox Digital team for teaching me so much about what makes a good UX designer. During my tenure, I worked with so many different people: product owners/managers, marketing specialists, developers, business analysts, and fellow designers. The 5 biggest lessons  from my experience: 1. Good design comes from continued refinement of ideas and visuals, and you need input from different teams to achieve this. Trust each other, and don’t be afraid to ask for clarification, explanation, or more context. You are not alone! 2. There are not a lot of lightbulb moments. And, there probably shouldn’t be! If you lay the right groundwork with research, wireframes and prototypes, the team can be confident in the final design. In other words – minimize surprises! 3. A well-developed design system goes a long way in allowing a designer to focus on the project requirements, rather than getting too bogged down with the little details. If you know the boundaries of your current design system, you can more easily visualize lower-fidelity iterations of the flow. 4. Project management takes constant tweaking and improvement – my suggestions and ideas for improving the process were celebrated and leveraged to make key changes to the way my team operated. Just because you’re a designer doesn’t mean you can’t point out ways the team can level up! 5. Practice patience and understanding – everyone has their own skillset that makes up the total value of the team. This means there is constant give and take of knowledge, experience, and bandwidth. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, and volunteer to provide help when you can! All that being said, I would love to connect if your organization is looking for a person with the hard skills AND the soft skills! With my experience, I can improve your digital ecosystem and improve your team dynamics simultaneously. Here is the most underrated tip for increasing your chances of landing a job as a product designer. 👇 ❌ Do not follow the crowd when applying for jobs. Most designers apply for jobs that already have hundreds of applicants, making it tough to stand out and decreasing your chances of success. I landed my last job by specifically avoiding high volumes of applicants. I operated differently than the competition by targeting companies that did not have many applicants. This greatly boosted my chances of landing a job, as I was not competing with the masses in the later stages. 🍀 Repost if you found the above valuable.

Today marks my first LinkedIn post discussing crafting a research proposal. In essence, a research proposal mirrors storytelling. Its success hinges on several factors: 1. Captivating the attention and trust of the target audience, often the Evaluation Committee. 2. Stimulating curiosity through the introduction of innovative concepts that invite speculation. 3. Recognizing the paramount importance of making a solid first impression. 4. Constructing a narrative that is credible and persuasive. 5.
