Longford businessman Philip Reynolds leads a consortium in raising €5.4m funding round into out of home parcel delivery firm OOHPod. Reynolds will take on the role of Chairman as OOHPod accelerates its roll-out of an extensive nationwide network of secure 24-hour parcel lockers. The business has the potential to drive a cultural shift in online shopping away from home delivery in favour of local hubs at forecourts and supermarkets nationwide, revolutionising parcel delivery in Ireland, cutting costs and CO2 emissions. The investment is set to become a template for a number of other deals that he and a consortium of investors are seeking to make in similar promising companies. 📦 Tritax Big Box REIT plc (BBOX) struck a deal to take over rival UK Commercial Property REIT (UKCM) at abrdn, and create UK’s fourth largest logistics landlord. Tritax Big Box are experts in UK logistics real estate. UK Commercial Property Reit (UKCM) at abrdn is a real estate investment trust. The combination of the two firms is set to make a real estate giant worth almost £4 billion. Leaders at Tritax said the deal will bring together a real estate portfolio worth around £6.3 billion focused on the logistics sector. “This deal looks to make good sense to us and we see the BBOX share price offering attractive long-term value.
