Struggle with taking things too personally? 🙃 Here’s 3 things you MUST do…
Absolutely. If you take something personally most of the time it is because of something from your past. If it happens all of the time you should get help clearing that junk out, if you can “put things down” you will be a much happier person.
“Picking up what no one asked you to carry” is a great metaphor for this!
So I agree that many times it shouldn’t be received as personal, however when you get to the point of litigation or any level of escalation, it many times the other party or even opposition intended on making it personal. Maybe I’m splitting hairs here but some peoples intentions are to make it personal and hurt you.
Dear Hiring Team, I am writing to express my utter disappointment in your inexplicable decision to not hire my 15-year-old daughter. Her understated beauty is surpassed only by her keen intellect, and she has a huge heart for ugly, snaggle-toothed dogs. Her cast iron stomach would've paired nicely with the roadkill you serve each day. Your loss is clear. Once we have satiated our appetites, having fattened our bellies on your cool, chocolaty treats over the long, hot summer, our family will be boycotting your fine establishment during the bitter winter months ahead. So may I say, heap hot coals upon your head, Dairy Queen! May your Blizzards tumble to the ground as you so arrogantly upend them. Sincerely yours, The Louwers Family

Thank you so much for your videos, emotional intelligence should be a discipline in school and college. In a world where a lot of people are working from home, it’s become easier to say whatever we want without consequences. Most people have never learned how to respond to this situations.
