The most consistent theme seems to be prioritizing time and activities that allow for productivity and preparing to be productive instead of practicing blind conformity. I suggest this kind of person likely enjoys the process(es) of the job as opposed to just exercising the skills they learned to be able to earn a paycheck. While both career approaches are equally valid, the expectations and management techniques should be different so both can coexist in the same group. I've seen this mix at every work environment and only open-minded managers have been able to keep the peace.

High performers have a unique mindset that sets them apart from the rest. One of his fundamental traits is to have less ego. Instead, they quietly act as such and let their actions speak for themselves.   This lack of ego allows high performers to focus on their goals and strive for excellence without getting caught up in external validation. They are motivated by their own drive and determination, rather than seeking recognition or awards from others.   This mindset also helps high performers stay humble and continuously learn and improve. They understand that there is always room to grow and are not afraid to step out of their comfort zone to achieve their goals. How many qualities do you have?

In every employee review I reminded my team that I do not judge them based on how much or how quickly they reply to email. I do however, judge them on how much they produce. Email is how others get you to do their work and the majority of corporate email does not yield revenue generating value. This post by Tim is a great wake up call for leaders to get teams back to being aligned with performing, not just working.

Couldn’t agree more with these elements of some of the traits of high performers. When you get to a spot where mastery sets in, you find a zone where execution on outcomes is the driver and you just know how to get there It’s hard to describe to someone. It’s difficult to teach. It’s a mindset. Tim Denning absolutely knocks it out of the park with this post. Measure yourself up to this. If you feel you are a high performer, would love to hear your thoughts on this.
