In the last couple months, I have seen first hand where companies place WAY more importance on attracting new people as opposed to retaining what they have. Examples: Company #1 to employee - "Sometimes you have to leave the company and come back to get a raise or promotion that you want" Company #2 to customer - "All of our deals are for new customers, here is a tip, cancel your service for a week, then you can get NEW customer deals" Along with the hiring process being broken, so is the retention process. It costs a company so much more to hire someone new vs. retaining quality employees, same goes for customers of a company, yet companies do not seem to place much focus on retention. #people #retention
