LAYOFFS AND CONTEMPLATING SUICIDE (DON'T!) The clock is ticking. For many job seekers, life has become overwhelmingly hard. Not only are they mired in an interminable hunt for a job, but the pressures of keeping a roof over their head, food on the table and their bills paid have overwhelmed them, consuming their lives and leading them into a dark mental state. With bank accounts in the red and no hope in sight in regards to finding a job, too many people are considering the unthinkable. Times are tough and people are scared. The mental struggle of an extended job loss is crushing and cruel. Without a job and health insurance, paying for a therapist is next to impossible, assuming, of course, you could actually get an appointment before next March. Nine months away. Every day, I'm getting an alarming number of messages from desperate people sharing their stories and how if things don't get better soon, they will contemplate ending their lives.
