Experienced content director and program/curriculum/event designer and educator with a particular focus on diversity, equity and inclusion
It has been just over a year since I made the public proclamation (or LinkedIn post, as the case may be) that I was joining the ranks of independent consultants/contractors. As one does at this sort of milestone, I am both reflecting on the past year and looking to the future. I left the gate with the intention to program/design content-driven events and/or create curriculum for L&D programs. I did the former but not the latter. However, I also presented workshops to ERG leaders and ran logistics for an event, types of projects I hadn't seen as ones to pursue at the start. All of those experiences were positive ones and provided an opportunity for me to learn and flex some skills I hadn't flexed in a while. All that to say, what I will bring into year two of this whole thing is to be open to opportunities that I may not have envisioned as part of "the plan." The plan is ever-evolving and I am here to see where it takes me.
